Because of how dim the primary was (Mv > +40) the system was extremely cold. The two terrestrial planets were practically frozen solid and the "gas giant" was completely thermalized, except for some kind of thin atmosphere of hydrogen and helium just above the hard surface.

Now all that changed in 6825 CE, when a giant cloud of used ships recently put out of use by the Lactean Confederacy only a few decades ago floated past the object, and at its closest approach, it was collectively only ~150 AU from the "star", and this was when the gravitational attraction of the sub brown dwarf overwhelmed the cloud of ships and it drifted towards the sub brown dwarf. The quintillions of ships present were quickly absorbed by MOA-2015-BLG-337L, which gained just enough mass to attract another, even larger cloud of unused things into it. A large dust cloud happened to drift near the star and was attracted by it, and so its mass increased yet again.
