Achrinia is a Life-bearing planet, habitable to humans. Achrinia’s atmosphere is thinner than Earth’s and is composed of far more greenhouse gases, leaving the planet very hot and high carbon-dioxide levels make it quite difficult to for Earth life to breathe on the planet without assistance.

History

Achrinia is roughly 5.2 billion years old, and had a formation similar to Earth's .

Complex life first appeared on the planet about 855 million years ago, in the shallow seas around the continental shelves. However life only emerged out of the seas around 200 million years ago.

Geography

Achrinia is 63% water and 37% land, There are only two large continental landmasses, being Skar’a-Chil to the Southwest which encompasses the entire south pole, and Yut-ka-zzarr to the Northeast. Several smaller landmasses and volcanic island chains also exist on the planet.

Achrinia's landmasses are very dry and are covered in various hills, badlands and canyons.

Sapient Species

Achrinia’s only sapient species are the Achrinians,

Achrinian Biotas

Skar’a Chil Wildlife

Much of Skar’a Chil’s landscape is dominated by Grass analogues, Large flat expanses covered in a floral organism known as Waxstalks. These tall stem-like plants are covered in tiny photosynthetic cells to provide the organism with energy. They are incredibly hardy and resilient, being the primary source of food for many animals.

Much of Skar’a Chil’s native wildlife is adapted for the harsh conditions, large herbivores possess huge chambered stomachs to digest Waxroot, and possess intricate armor and/or weaponry to protect themselves from the fearsome mega-carnivores that are abundant on the planet.

  • Wandering Scrange
  • Titan Boggartt
  • Arrowhead Kerion - a common Scavenger that travels in packs. They can become aggressive and incredibly dangerous if provoked.
  • Western Achrinilope - Most common herbivore on the savannah.
  • Gluttonous Fraange -
  • Mountain Achrinilope - A basal species of Achrinilope native to Skar'a Chil's Skor' Tellis Canyon System. They are adept climbers that feed on the sparse, scrubby vegetation found on the cold mountain peaks.
  • Canyon Glider - A large Condor-like Avian species that typically nests on the walls or outcroppings of the large canyons scarring the continent, with the highest number of these creatures dwelling within the Skor' Tellis Canyon System.

Yut-ka-zzarrii Wildlife

Yut-ka-zzarr is similarly Savannah dominated, like Skar’a Chil. But the continent also features a variety of other biomes, ranging from montane, temperate and tropical rainforests to coastal mangroves and even a large inland cold desert.

  • Lumbering Scrange - Giant hexapodal herbivores, twice the size of a Blue Whale. They range from coast to coast, happy in any habitat. They spend all day shoveling plant-matter into their twin mouths using four 65 foot-long elephant-like trunks.
  • Octocephalian - Apex predators, the Octocephalians possess eight heads, eight arms tipped with 6 fingered hands and eight pillar-like legs. They have the incredible ability to alter their genetic and biochemical makeup to shapeshift into several even deadlier and more horrifying forms.
  • Eastern Achrinilope - One of the most common herbivores on the Yutkan savannas. These horse-sized creatures are frequent prey items of the large, deadly predators native to their environment.
