Aluha is a major world in the Federation of Systems, first discovered in 2102 and colonised in 3078. The planet is notable as the first discovered world with extraterrestrial life, complex or otherwise, and the first world to be extensively studied as part of humanities efforts to catalog and document the universe's life.

The planet is situated 167 light-years from Earth, placing it at the core of the Human Metacivilization. Colonised millenia ago, the planet has developed through countless centuries of colonisation and growth, becoming the booming scientific and cultural hub it is today.

History

Aluha was discovered as part of the Tyson Exoplanet Lagrange Telescope in 2102, and immediately drew intense scrutiny from scientific communities on and around Earth. Immediate biosignatures were detected, including strong oxygen signatures, chlorophyll, complex organics, and liquid water. Significant resources were invested into studying Aluha, culminating in the confirmation of at least minimal biological life in 2154.

Significant study was devoted to Aluha over the next thousand years, with large telescopes taking blurry images of it, and computer models simulating its surface and environmental conditions. The first ship was launched to Aluha in 2891 CE, after significant discussion on the morality of contaminating a foreign and completely alien world with human and Earth-based life. A status-quo was reached, where a scientific colony would be established in pneumatically sealed surface domes, while a orbital society would be established in the sky.

Arriving in 3057 CE, the Belief in Hope immediately constructed a series of O'Neill colonies in a high polar orbit around the planet. Ten million passengers disembarked, and began to construct the first human settlements in the system.

Ten years later, a thriving society was built in Aluhan orbit. Contact with the planet itself was strictly forbidden, until the elected council determined that the Aluhan civilization was prepared enough to eliminate any risk of contamination on the surface.

In 3068 CE, the first human peoples set foot alien soil, establishing the scientific outpost of Eden near major river delta in the southern hemisphere. Eden would grow to become the cultural, political and scientific hub of the planet, and be its traditional capital.
