Amaranth

Overview

Amaranth stands as the single most dominant facet of reality across all of Creation; and within the Mysterial Realm of Haven, this inherent truth remains unchanged. The most powerful of the Sources; all things — regardless of their nature, origin, or state of being — are bound within the great connective whole forged by Amaranth’s ever-present and all-powerful essence. In Haven; as in all realms, nothing stands apart from the eternal weave of this omnipotent truth, for Amaranth flows through all as the unseen current that unites the manifold of existence's totality into one.

Wrought by the creative intent behind all existence; Imagindarium: Amaranth exists as the guiding force that draws the whole of Creation toward its Ultimate End. It is not only a sustaining essence, but a directional will, instated to ensure that all things; realms, laws, entities, and concepts progress according to this grand arc inscribed by their author's autonomy. Amaranth flows through every thread of reality as both the foundation and the fulcrum, binding beginnings to conclusions in perfect narrative cohesion and authorial intent.

Unseen Intent of Amaranth

Amaranth is a force which, in the realm of Haven, passes largely unseen, unfelt, and unheard. Its hand, though the very author of all that is, remains uncredited by most; ignored, denied, or simply not overtly known to those who dwell beneath its silent gaze. Yet its truth lies etched within the soul of all who possess perception, even if unacknowledged, as it is the sole visage of objectivity, unbending and eternal within Creation. Not even the greatest among the Divine may alter this truth, nor ascend to its heights or plunge to its depths. All things: mortal, mysterial, or Divine, are born of Amaranth, regardless of Havenborne belief or Divine recognition.

Yet unlike other regions of Creation; such as the Trilateral Realm of Ambrosia, which lies largely beyond Haven’s reach, Amaranth within the Mysterial Realm is far more unobtrusive in its presence. Though inescapable, unavoidable, and the sole reason for Haven’s very existence, Amaranth does not reveal itself with the overt intensity seen in realms like the primeval Typhonia. Instead, its presence moves subtly, woven quietly into the unseen foundations of all things, ever present but rarely perceived in literal form.

Amaranth's Mysterial Echo

In truth; all of Thavma, which lay beyond and encompass that of the Mavimyst and its myriad Realms experiences only a faint trace of Amaranth making itself ontologically apparent. Within these regions, Amaranth functions more as a "background" current; an intrinsic process embedded within every entity, rather than as an overwhelming physical or metaphysical presence. It does not present itself through overt visual or spatial manifestations, but instead operates silently at the core of being, ever essential, yet rarely seen or felt.

The greatest exception to this rule, rather paradoxically, is the Mavimyst itself. Though it manifests as a subtle and more muted expression, it is undeniably a form of Amaranth all the same; gentle in presence, yet bound by the same eternal essence. The Mavimyst, enshrouded in veils of Mysterial "haze" through the conduit of Mana, acts as a liminal channel wherein the concealed potency of Amaranth momentarily brushes the surface of awareness. While never revealing itself in full, its presence can be felt in the shifting stillness between Realms, in the quiet symmetry of unspoken truths, and in the strange weight that lingers within silence.

Awareness of Amaranth

As mentioned above; Amaranth remains largely inert within the public consciousness throughout the entirety of the Known World, regardless of era. This is due to its nature as a force that operates unseen, especially when contrasted with the more overtly active and visibly omnipresent forces that shape the world such as Mana. While it is ever-present and foundational, Amaranth seldom reveals itself in ways that draw awareness, remaining hidden beneath the surface of perception and rarely acknowledged by the societies, traditions, or mythologies of the waking world.

Though a rare few have been granted the privilege of knowing the Amaranth Truth, such individuals are exceedingly rare and invariably scarce; scattered across eras and the world's collective lands. Of those who bear this knowledge, many belong to the lineage known as the Amaranth Heirs, beings who are, by their very nature, wrought from Amaranth and destined to serve its purpose as living Amaranth Contravenes. Beyond mere awareness; the Amaranth Heirs are intrinsically attuned to its will, bound by origin and by function to act as vessels of its enduring authorial intent.

A notable trait shared by both the Amaranth Heirs and the greater Amaranth Contravenes from which they are created from is their heightened prominence within Haven and the wider Mavimyst it inhabits in contrast to the rest of Creation. This is a direct result of the Mavimyst’s bombastic and ever-shifting nature; rendering it a realm suspended in perpetual tension between Light and Darkness, governed by the ancient and unyielding Penumbral Scales. These scales dictate the ebb and flow of all things within the Mysterial Realm, determining the balance, alignment, and ultimate fate of its countless forms.

The energies of opposition, conflict, and contrast between morality's extremes and alignment constantly churn, giving rise to countless metaphysical ruptures where Amaranth can pierce the veil into the Mavimyst. Chief among these is the millennial Mavishift; a grand and cyclical upheaval of the Penumbral Scales resetting themselves that stands as the most prominent and enduring of all Amaranth Contravenes within the Mysterial Realm. Unlike its kindred, the Mavishift is unique in that it follows a predictable rhythm, a fixed chronological moment at which its manifestation is assured. These heralded turning of the fates is ultimately where the latent and infinite essence of Amaranth blooms forth and reshapes the very nature of Haven and all who dwell within it.

Manipulation of Amaranth

Even more rare than the mere awareness of Amaranth are those who possess the knowledge or capacity to manipulate it; much like one might shape the forces of Mana into Magic. Unlike the myriad Sources, Mana included, which are themselves born from the vast wellspring of Amaranth’s power, Amaranth itself resists subjugation or manipulation. It does not bend to will, nor yield to intent, save in the most extraordinary of circumstances or vessels to act as Amaranth's vestige. Nowhere is this more evident than within the Trilateral Realm of Thavma, and by extension, the Mysterial Realm of Haven.

Though Amaranth remains infinitely present across all regions of Creation, in these lands it renders itself infinitely less apparent — veiled and unobtrusive — unlike in realms such as Ambrosia, where its presence saturates the visible and apparent fabrics of existence. In Haven, Amaranth flows in silence, unseen and untouched; and therefore largely unmovable.

However, exceptions — or more accurately, exemptions — do exist to this truth. As with awareness, the Amaranth Heirs stand as the most frequent manipulators of Amaranth, their lineage granting them an innate connection to its essence. Yet this capacity is not universally experienced among their kind, nor is it always consciously enacted. In many cases, the manipulation of Amaranth occurs unknowingly, as a passive extension of their being rather than a deliberate act of will.
