Alliance of Planets
Aquaris is a life-bearing planet, habitable to Earth life. Aquaris is a temperate planet covered mostly in deciduous temperate forests and jungles. The planet has only one freshwater ocean, with the rest of the planets water bodies held in numerous glacial lakes, ponds and wetlands.
Geography
Aquaris has four distinct regions, Ackwar, At’ar, Bakunwa and Nocya. The exact borders of these regions have been a subject of debate for centuries, due to the very fluid geography of the planet. The hundreds of miles of coastline, shattered islands, and thin stretches of land crisscrossed by waterways accompanied by numerous dense wetlands have made this world historically difficult to map.
Aquarian Biotas
Sapient Races
Aquaris is the home planet of the Squeeshee Abua, a vaguely humanoid reptilian species native to all four continents. Reminiscent of anthropomorphic theropod dinosaurs. The Abuas live in small villages scattered throughout the planets forests and swamps, often accompanied by swathes of cultivated forests where edible fruits and small animals can be gathered easily. But, Abuas are primarily scavengers, feeding mainly on rotting flesh, the more putrid and rancid of which the better. Scavenging parties of about a dozen members will set out to search for dead animals to bring back to the village.
Aquaris is also home to the Bufon, native only to Nocya and At’ar they resemble squat humanoid toads.
Wildlife on Ackwar
Ackwar is home to many species of flying bird-like creatures, referred to simply as Carrion Birds. These creatures are often encountered by Abua scavenging parties already feeding off of discovered carcasses or trying to bully parties away from carcasses they found first. Carrion Bird species range in size from two-foot wingspans to wingspans of up to 35 feet. These larger species are worshipped by many Abua tribes as gods.
- Ackwarian Teratorn
- Jack-Hawk
The Ackwarian Mega-Theropod is a close relative of the Squeeshee Abua, they are apex predators though they stay away from wetlands and thick forests, prefering to stay in the open forests and woodlands.
Other Wildlife includes…
- Ackwarian Green Frog
- Ackwarian Leaf Toad
- Ackwarian Red Toad
- Blast Roach
- Blotched Pseudomander
- Common Thamnophid
- Spotted Pseudomander
Wildlife on Nocya
- Buzzing Roach
- Nocyan Death Cricket
- Nocyan Leaf Toad
- Nocyan Red Toad
- Nocyan Mega-Theropod
- Giant Thamnophid
Invasive Species
- Lanky Chuck - Accidentally introduced to the continent of Ackwar by Suchian wildlife traders, these species adapted well to the lush forests of the continent. They are problematic due to their skills in camouflage and habit of devouring the native Abuas.
