Increased Strength
The unwilling subject of a Vietnam War experiment, teenage runaway Avery Bakker was exposed to an experimental gene-altering super serum transforming her into the superheroine Firebird. Now possessing complete control and immunity to fire she attempted to escape the secret facility she was taken to, but was captured and locked in cryogenic containment. 50 years later she was freed, using her pyrokinetic powers she became a protector for other runaways and anyone who couldn’t help themselves, soon become one of the founding members of the Guardians of Earth.
Personality
Avery is excitable, but often her energy level leads to her irritating those around her or rushing into things she isn’t prepared for. Also being from the 70s many newer technologies and social ideals are novel and hard to grasp.
History
In the 1960’s during the Vietnam War the US Military looked to augment their infantry with a stronger breed of humankind, using genetic engineering to create a new breed of commandable super soldier. Using less than legal means they started human experimentation on a 14 year old Orphan girl. Their experiments were successful and they transformed her into a being perpetually on fire, with avian features and control over all forms of flame.
Unable to control her powers at first, she was deemed unstable and sealed away in a cryogenic stasis pod and locked away in a research base, thankfully she eventually escaped 50 years later when an explosion destroyed her containment chamber.
