Talikani
Balikato is a temperate marine terra with advanced organic life. It has no moons whatsoever and it orbits its binary star system at a distance of 1.21 AU. The system it is in is located somewhat near the core of the Milky Way Galaxy .
Physical
The planet's temperature is above freezing, being at around 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius). The planet has a large greenhouse effect, and without it, it would be a frozen wasteland.
Life
Life on Balikato is very common. Lush forests and grasslands cover its plains and hills, and many species are bioluminescent, resulting in a strikingly beautiful landscape at night. The oceans are also densely populated with life, with huge kelp forests and underwater grasslands taking over the more shallow waters.
Talikani
The planet has one sentient species, known as the Talikani. They are bipedal, with two legs and four arms. They are thought to be insect-descendent, but they share many characteristics with mammals as well, such as being warm-blooded and breathing through a mouth. On average, they stand 7.2 feet tall, but this varies.
They are slightly more intelligent than humans and share similar aspects of their culture. They have abolished separate nations and joined together as many integrated states under one governing body- known as the Talicora- ever since they invented FTL travel approximately 312 years before humans.
They are a benevolent culture of explorers, nomads, and scientists. They have a socialist lifestyle, and while they have a currency, strict regulations are in place to prevent abuse of power and money. With the help of humans, they have become a post-scarcity civilization, and benefits such as medical treatment, occupation (if desired), transportation, and housing are available for free for all citizens. Their government, while powerful, is based on freedom, so any citizen can do what they desire as long as it does not harm anyone else.
