The Barbarus Islands are an archipelago of volcanic islands in the North Atlantic between Iceland and Newfoundland. These islands lie above a huge network of lava tubes that eventually leads down to the Dante's Pit.
History
From the 5th to 9th Century a mysterious Nordic culture lived on the islands. They are suspected to be responsible for the presence of the unique horse, sheep, goat, cattle and chicken breeds found on the islands, archaeological sites also suggest that these people managed to semi-domesticate the various dragon species found on the islands. Saurians and Dragonborne from Moshkho were a part of the Barbarus Island Civilization as well.
Many gigantic structures have been found on the islands similar to the Catacombs of Saqqara, the presence of giant bones suggests these were temples or simply just shelters for the various Jotnar species that still frequent the islands. It is likely that they were worshipped as gods by the Barbarus Islands Civilization.

Wildlife
A wide-variety of animal life is found on the Barbarus Islands in stark contrast with the neighboring Iceland. A variety of domestic animals, mostly of Icelandic origin, have integrated into the ecosystem. Icelandic Sheep, Goats, Cattle and Chickens evolved into a variety of new forms.
The fearsome Barbarus Horse is the largest known Equine, reaching 8 feet in height and weighing up to 3,600 lbs.
Polar Bears are semi-common, occasional migrants crossing over on sea ice from Greenland.
Reindeer are incredibly rare, being unable to defend themselves from the native predators very well. and it is likely they are not native but were brought to the islands by Humans
