Barrier Galaxy
Ancient History
The galaxy has few habitable planets, and no significant civilization rose within it. It's first recorded human visitors were likely explorers, who left the galaxy after discovering nothing of note.
A few Millenia later, A group of explorers found that most of the galaxy's planets were unusually resource-rich.
Colonization
The galaxy was quickly colonized soon after, with various nations and corporations setting up colonies on the few habitable worlds within the galaxy, sometimes even colonizing uninhabitable planets once space on the habitable ones ran out. With the sheer amount of nations vying for control of the resource-rich worlds causing many wars
Decolonization
The galaxy was decolonized within a millennia, as small wars over the galaxy escalated into massive, world-destroying conflicts back in Andromeda, or even the Milky Way. nations simply abandoned their colonies after deciding that the wars were not worth the resources.
In the abandoned settlements, odd reports started coming in. the few nations left in the galaxy had taken them over, and reports of ghosts and monsters lurking in the corridors of the bases came flooding in. as the colonies began to deteriorate, these reports became more common, finally, a group of workers vanishing without a trace inside an abandoned colony caused massive strikes, forcing the last nations to withdraw from the galaxy.
It is believed that the ghost stories came from a sense of fear from the appearance of the abandoned structures, especially in areas where the lights had broken down or where half-destroyed machinery made odd sounds. it was also believed that the group of workers that vanished, whom were stationed on one of the most derelict of these colonies, had simply had a portion of the group go mad from paranoia, killing themselves and the other workers.
Great Andromeda Manufacturing Co.
In Andromeda, a small company producing weapons and ships for militaries was founded. Finding competition too tough, they decided to relocate to this galaxy, renaming it Barrier. Within Barrier, the company created new colonies and mined materials from the planets to create massive amounts of starships and weaponry, exporting it to the other galaxies. this buildup of weapons is also the reason behind the galaxy's name, Barrier.

Colonial Savages
Deep in the abandoned colonies littered throughout the galaxy, small communities of the men left behind when the galaxy was decolonized were formed. most died from lack of food or infighting, but a few, usually those on habitable worlds, survived. Their societies have devolved into the equivalent of tribal kingdoms, having lost most of their technology
Colonial Survivors
On the colonies that were never abandoned, many objected their nation's orders to leave the galaxy. many people stayed behind, not wanting to move. They have founded their own nation. They have had an odd relationship with Great Andromeda, with some of the population loving them for returning to the galaxy, while the others hating them as the company holds little regard for their nation.
Anti-Capitalists
Formed from extremist groups within the Colonial Survivors as well as some workers from Great Andromeda, the Anti-Capitalists constantly fight with Great Andromeda, supporting communism instead. Most people, including some of their own members, dismiss them as foolish radicals, causing a steady decline in the Anti-Capitalist population.
