Bianca Noctil

Bianca Noctil was a molecular biologist and mammalogist from Vesper City, South Carolina, with a special interest in bats. She worked to create cures for ailments such as deafness and heart disease by using CRISPR technologies and combining Chiropteran DNA with that of Humans. However, following a break in at her lab Bianca was forcefully injected with her only sample of the CRISPR sequence as a cruel joke,. Bianca was assumed dead and her research was destroyed, however within the hour her mutation began, turning her into a monstrous semi-anthropomorphic bat creature, though thankfully her mind was left intact. She sought revenge on the men that had done this to her and took off into the night to track them down. She found one of them, confronting a boy and his parents in an alleyway, she pounced upon him but not before causing the man to accidentally pull the trigger. Shooting the boy’s father and killing him.

Seeing what she had caused and the fear in the boy's eyes she vowed to never make a mistake like that again, and vowed to hunt down scum like the man she captured to atone for it. She would use her monstrous form to strike fear in the hearts of wrongdoers but never a child or any other innocent person. She retreated to her apartment to pack up what she could and flee the city, believing that she had no place in the city. But was spotted by her fiancé, Arthur, who, while initially frightened, used his genius level intellect to deduce that the bat-creature was Bianca.

Arthur helped console her, and agreed that she should use her newfound power for good, but insisted that she wouldn’t have to go through the process alone and that he’d stay by her side.

Bianca and Arthur worked together, Bianca was eventually known as She-Bat by Vesper City news outlets, a name she adopted for a while.

Bianca and Arthur were eventually able to scrape together enough money to build a new research facility on the grounds of the Vesper City Zoo, where they had the opportunity to work with the zoo’s bat colony, as well as rescue and bring new bats to work with.

In between research at her lab Bianca serves Vesper City as a nocturnal vigilante, taking down common criminals, mobsters, corrupt cops and politicians, and even mutant supervillains.

Arthur eventually re-synthesized Bianca’s original formula, though by the time he had done so, it was obvious Bianca had no interest in giving up her powers, instead she only took a partial does which allowed her to take on human form for a while. If anything just so she and Artie could go out on a date somewhere nice for once.
