Blacktail Nithoides

Blacktail Nithoides was a female troodon, the 142nd and final Magistrate Director of Laramidia during the Asteroid Crisis, and the ensuing extinction event.

History

Early Life

Hatched about 25 years before the K-pg extinction event, Nithoides' childhood was rather obscure an uneventful. Blacktail was known to be the quiet and brooding type, and she had a weird fixation on social and political philosophy, which likely served to motivate her to go into politics.

Entry Into Politics

After joining the Directory as a part of the Intelligence Wing, her ambition and intelligence quickly allowed her to rise through the directory ranks. Two years before the start of the Asteroid Crisis, Blacktail ran for the position of Magistrate Director, and was elected by the Directory.

Asteroid Crisis

A year and a half into Nithoides' term, the Laramidian Science Institute reported the large asteroid they had calculated would collide with Earth in only a little more than a year. After several attempts to destroy the asteroid failed, Blacktail made the decision to reveal the news to the public and declare a state of emergency. Blacktail oversaw and directed the project to preserve Laramidian civilization. Laramidia saw widespread civil unrest due to the Asteroid Crisis and the resource shortages caused by the preservation project. Blacktail personally ordered for Martial Law to be invoked to counter the unrest and dissidence across Laramidia. A violent government crackdown ensued, resulting in countless atrocities being committed against the citizens of Laramidia. The Laramidian government constructed four megabunkers in order to shelter as many citizens as possible from the imminent impact event.

K-pg Extinction and Death

While two of the megabunkers were destroyed during the impact event, Blacktail sheltered in the directory bunker. After receiving news of the hopeless and desolate situation on the surface, Blacktail's mental health quickly declined. She ended up falling into a state of psychosis, culminating in her sealing the Directory bunker before flooding it with Carbon Monoxide, killing her and the rest of the directory, and leaving the survivors in the two other surviving bunkers to die.

Personality

Blacktail Nithoides had a reputation for being a quiet and very observant individual. She harbored a deep sense of ambition and ruthlessness throughout her life, which shone clearly during her rule. Blacktail was not opposed to sacrificing lives if she thought it was for the greater good, believing the ends justify the means.
