Bunyip
The Bunyip is a large aquatic Marsupial inhabiting the south east Wetlands of Australia.
In the last 11,000 years the Bunyip population has decreased from serval thousand to a few hundred due to the end of the ice age causing them to lose habitat and large prey. They faced even more danger from human hunting and pollution. its estimated by the Australian government that only 31 bunyip remain, Mostly in Hattah-Kulkyne National Park in Victoria
Description
The Bunyip seems to be related to Opossums such as the Yapok or "Water Opossum". It's size varies but on average Adults come in at 18 feet long and weigh around 600-700 lbs. Their Fur is dark, with a face pointed and long, similar to a Sea lion with large Saber like Canines clearly visible when Mouth is agap.

The Bunyip serves a similar niche as the saltwater crocodile serves in northern Australia, hunting anything close to the Water, including Humans, Wombats, Thylacine, Tasmanian Devils, and Kangaroos.
