Caf-Kah

Also known as the Cafka, Drivers or Pilots, the Caf-Kah are a race of parasitic/symbiotic creatures with a methane based biochemistry. While their evolutionary history is a mystery to them and us, their understanding of the sciences and technology are enough to to the majority of the members of the Alliance of Planets.

The parasitic worm-like creature can live for prolonged periods of time without their host. The host however is functionally brain dead without them. Interestingly, they both seem to be partially made of metal or have metallic properties in their biology. As do most fauna on their homeworld.

Their communication is mainly based on touch and sound since they're almost entirely blind. Touch is a key part of their language, which can often be jarring to other species, as a Caf-Kah Pilot will often wrap around an appendage or wriggle around in your clothes in order to say 'hello'
