Cedric Van Harten

Using the hero name Captain Genesis, Cedric Van Harten is a Pennsylvania man who after being exposed to the pollen of a strange flower, mutated by discarded toxic waste, developed a host of powers. He operated throughout the Golden Age of Heroism.

History

He was one of the superhumans the DEP considered to be a starting member of the Frontliners but was ultimately sidelined. Though he later joined the team following WWII

In civilian life Cedric was an Environmental Sciences and Biology professor at the University of Philadelphia. Cedric has a strong connection to his faith and believes God gave him the power of creation to stop criminals as well as Ecological Disasters such as deforestation and climate change. He is featured prominently on a mural in the Guardians of Earth HQ.
