Cicrak

The Cicrak are a race of Crow-like aliens, they are native to the vast grasslands of Tethys 3.

History

The first Cicrak ancestors evolved on the grasslands of Lowak, 13 million years ago. They species proved successful as scavengers and predators of small game. Over the next 10 million years the lineage diversified into dozens of different forms, including the ancestors of the Alvo.

The first anatomically modern Cicrak first appeared about 500,000 years ago.

Culture

Cicrak culture is relatively simple, they are nomadic building tents out of woven plants or animal hides, or even living along-side other sapient races like the Phuhna, Scrakals and Zuldrik. When moving on to new places Cicrak leave their tents out to allow other travelers to stay at their settlements.

Cicrak are valued by the other races of the Plains due to their exceptional eyesight and ability to fly.

Appearance and Biology

Cicrak stand about 5 feet tall, most of their height comes from their long, crane-like legs.

A Cicrak's feathers have two sides, one is bright and iridescent, nearly mirror-like and can refract light, the other is very dark, so intensely black that they are able to absorb over 99% of light. This adaptation evolved to help them hide from predators in an environment with very little cover.

Cicrak are capable of Umbrakinesis should they go through rigorous training, by angling their feathers and causing the refracted and absorbed light to form shadow constructs
