Comet Hael, better known as the superheroine, Zoooom is a Zetheilian speedster from San Francisco, California.
Physical Appearance
Comet is a tawny-scaled Zetheilerius, as is typical for her specific locality, she has scattered white spots along her back and flanks and a large, swooping, yellowish-orange stripe running from behind her eye, down her neck, seperating her back from her belly until sharply up just before her legs.
Personality
Comet lives fast, being an impatient and quick-tempered personality. She is often lost in thought and easily distracted, often forgetting the task at hand.
History
Early Life and Origin of Powers
Comet hatched within the Mammoth Caves in Kentucky, where she was raised for the majority of her life. Her early years were uneventful, spent simply trying to stay hidden from the outside world, and aside from the occasional visits from M.Y.T.H.O.S. agents making sure her colony was staying hidden from the populace, she had no experience with the outside world.
The thought of exploring outside on the cave was an ever-present thought in her mind. Eventually she decided to act on these thoughts, sneaking away from her colony and crawling out of the cave into the outside world.
The experience was all new, she spent hours climbing trees, collecting sticks and flowers, and watching the different animals in the park surrounding the caves. Unfortunately, her wonder wouldn't last forever as she eventually encountered a group of tourists, who she went to greet.
It didn't go well to say the least, the general public was unfamiliar with the existence of the Zetheilians at this point, and her suddenly popping up and excitedly babbling to the group frightened them into a panic. One member of this group grabbed a taser to defend themselves with and delivered a shock to the young Zetheilerius. The shock hurt, but also caused the vast amounts of metallic dust in her downy feathers to become charged. Comet fled and continued her exploration well into the night until a severe thunderstorm arrived in the area.
Being unfamiliar with the concept of storms, Comet did not take shelter and due to her body being charged with electricity she became a literal lightning rod. That night she was struck no less than 47 times. She survived, but the electrical energy stimulated her muscles in such a way as to allow her to reach blindingly fast speeds. This electrical stimulation would have probably worn off however, had Comet not decided to try and flee from the storm by hiding in a former wartime industrial site, contaminated with various chemicals and radioactive materials. So with one last lightning strike, she was further enhanced and doused with the noxious concoction, mutating her body in a way that her over-stimulated musculature became her default anatomy.
Career as a Hero
with her new experiences outdoors and new-found speed, Comet wouldn't return to the cave and instead sped off to parts unknown. On her travels she often stopped to help or rescue various animals, usually by moving them out of the way of incoming vehicles. She stuck around a certain, particularly dangerous stretch of road, where she became a sort of urban legend, 'The yellow streak of Ogilvie Road'
the reports attracted M.Y.T.H.O.S. to the scene, where they attempted capturing said streak. Comet decided these agents would be prime targets to mess with, and what followed was a series of capture attempts that all ended up devolving into scenarios straight out of 'Looney Tunes'
That was until one prank resulted in a boulder knocking a car off the road, and sending it nearly careening off the side of a cliff. Comet, knowing full well that the riders wouldn't survive a fall off the cliff abandoned the agents and quickly retrieved all five people and the two dogs out of the car placing them safely on the road before the car sped off the cliff.
Dazed and confused, but safe and alive the family was confronted by their savior, and now rather than fear, Comet was met with gratitude and admiration.
This act of heroism was witnessed by the M.Y.T.H.O.S. agents as well, who realizing this entity wasn't malicious, called off the capture, and instead offered to help her find a place in the world.
Powers and Abilities
- Super Speed - Comet moves fast, really fast, she casually breaks the sound barrier on the regular, but she can easily go faster, reaching Mach 20 regularly, though its possible she can move even faster under the right conditions.
Relationships
- Theid Theron - Comet looks up to Theid as a mentor, with him being another Zetheilian. Theid even took her under his wing as his sidekick for a short while. He offered Comet a spot on the Guardians of Earth, but she refused, preferring to travel around freely and do things at her own pace.
