Cultures of Edna

Scope: Glimpse of Honor
From Amaranth Legacy, available at amaranth-legacy.community

The Demons are long gone, but the world is still aflame.
This content is a part of Glimpse of Honor.

Edna, is an ancient world of unknown origins and forsaken by its creator. The world itself used to be void of time, as days and nights hadn't yet come into existence. It would, however, be forever changed with the arrival of the Gods who in the end created Humans. The earliest signs of mankind in Edna can be witnessed in the western parts of Tanra from which they expanded into Ercadia and Igrin roughly around the same period. Seomnes and Zatha were left unexplored for several thousands of years, due to the difficult environment, such as open seas and desert respectively. As people developed their seafaring skills, those places were inhabited, too.

Ethnicities

Heliones The people of the sun.

The most prominent people in Edna. Heliones originate from the heart of Tanra and spread into Ercadia and northern Igrin. They are very outwardly people, feverous about their interests, known for their arts, as well, as their tendency to resolve matters by the sword.

Ankaniséans the people of the high mountains.

Proud and stubborn people with a talent for craftsmanship and metallurgy. They are as overprotective of their traditions, as they are lacking in diplomatic sociability. Difficult to deal with, one would either be fond of them or dislike them.

Eisvolk the ice people.

These seemingly cold people with their crude sounding speech live for today. A mere invitation to sit by the fire with ale is something they will remember. With an appetite for hunting and battle to match, as loud as they come.

Mosonoi the people of the forest.

An ancient and once very widespread ethnic group that slowly diminished from relevancy due to a number of factors - some of which include civil war, plague and Primordial Beasts. Arguably, their inclination to live in harmony with the land has kept them from progressing at the same pace as the other ethnicities.

Sarada the people of the sea.

They solely live in the Seomnes. Isolated for many centuries from the rest of the world, Sarada cultivated their own traditions and way of thinking. Due to their innovational and forward way of thinking, these people have mastered the rough seas. Their lack of religion, as well as the worship of pagan deities by some, has led to the continental people labelling them as barbaric and dangerous

Zathes the people of the desert.

Little is known about the exotic place Zathes live at. Their customs and speech is just as unknown to the rest of the world. The rest of Edna only knows stories about their mysterious kingdoms that lie beyond the great deserts.

The Ethnicities of Edna.

Major Powers

Nallion | Kenarion | Tefaronia | Maelinéa | Nagiséa

Nallion

A Helionean kingdom with a tradition of wise kings, talented at sea and land, witful and outwardly open culture. Nalliotes were constantly put in situations that allowed them to grow stronger. They used to be allies with Harmonia and Leoniki, but not so much with Kenarion as they have clashed a number of times.

Ethnicity: Helionean | Location: Dytiki Ercadia

Kenarion

A successor kingdom of Harmon and a realm that grew powerful with the fall of the kingdom of Leoniki, the biggest empire in the history of Edna. As a result, the Heliones of Kenarion view themselves as the rightful force of justice, the reason why Demons are not a threat anymore and their duty to intervene and meddle with the affairs of all other kingdoms in Edna.

Ethnicity: Helionean | Location: Dytiki Ercadia

Tefaronia

A militarized and very isolationist kingdom. Tefaronians are as stubborn and fierce as their Celestial guardian: Akrion, a spirit that appears in the form of a White Ram. They had many titles through their history. From "The Slave Nation", to "The Marching Nation". Nowdays they are known as "The Nation of Fire" (Ha Téfar Lénia in Ankaniséan). They are a threat to both Kenarion and Maelinea's interests since they take action against either of them who tries to shift the balance of power in Edna.

Ethnicity: Ankaniséan | Location: Drakania

Maelinéa

The most successful Ankaniséan realm. Founded by Máel, a Helionean who respected the people of the mountains and lived as one of them. This brought him in conflict with his brother Hármon. Which sequentially led to Maelinéa fall into chaos for a long time until his long lost daughter took over after fighting greedy Ankaniséan lords. Once she united Maelinea she went on to wage war in all of Harmon's successor kingdoms, causing havoc in the Helionean world. Her name is Néli and in the Ankaniséan language it means "Uproar". Heliones in disrespect chose to call her "Sigi" which means Silence.
