== OVERVIEW ==

Planet Diavolo, named after the Italian word for "Devil," is a temperate ringed lacustrine desert Selena located in Sector 1 of the Edelweiss Galaxy, 45 light-years from the Bridge and Tengri systems. This planet became the primary focus of the SnowStorm Union after being discovered by a group of Deep-Space Void Walkers, specifically the Union Expeditors 4 team aboard the `F5AE:443B Tyson-Class Corvette` ''Void Emperor''.

At first glance, Diavolo appeared unremarkable, but unique surface analysis scans from orbit immediately drew the crew's attention. The anomalously high concentration of exotic metals on its surface suggested untapped industrial potential. The data from a surface probe sent to the planet returned astonishing and absurdly valuable readings. Comparable in some ways to Venus in the Solar System, Diavolo exhibited a surface pressure of nearly 7 atmospheres. However, unlike Venus, the greenhouse gases moderated the surface temperature, keeping it at a surprisingly mild average of 8°C in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

The system's unique ''C-Hd3'' carbon star painted the planet in a striking orange tint, while its clouds displayed vivid mandarin gradients. Orbiting the star alongside Diavolo was a Jovian gas giant, later named ''Taron'', whose rings were visible from Diavolo's surface and orbit. Further analysis of Taron revealed pristine reserves of agricultural, metal and mineral resources, further boosting the system's value. Diavolo alone, with its dense metal deposits, could supply the industrial needs of the Tengri system and provide the SnowStorm Union with the means to expand its influence into nearby star systems.

== BLINDING GREED ==

As the analysis data continued to roll in, the crew's greed began to eclipse their professional judgment. A planet with such hypothetical richness could potentially make them multimillionaires if they demanded grants or resource rights from the Union. The only step left was to confirm the orbital data through direct surface analysis.

However, landing on Diavolo presented its own set of challenges. The extreme surface pressure was already at the limits of most environmental suits available aboard the ''Void Emperor''. Of the suits onboard, only two Hazardous Environment models were rated to withstand the planet's oppressive atmospheric pressure and the surface heat, which could climb as high as 75°C during the day.

Despite these risks, the allure of wealth and untapped potential spurred the crew forward. Diavolo represented not only a resource jackpot but also a gamble that would either cement their place in the Union’s history—or serve as a stark reminder of the price of greed.
