Euterpe (Un'oit: Rhapsody) is a marine world orbiting the black hole Nocturne. Its terraformation was one of the most impressive projects of the Vaplein Republic who took advantage of natural fission reactors in the planet's core to keep it warm. At its height, the planet had a population of nearly one hundred billion. Currently, ten billion reside on this world, having long since abandoned the world in favor of a life under a real sun. Unlike Thalia, an even more impressive project involving the creation of artificial suns in orbit, Euterpe's day and night cycle is the result of artificial lighting.

Physical

Euterpe was once the core of an ice giant distantly orbiting Nocturne. For 100 million years, the planet was captured in close orbit around Requiem, blasting away its atmosphere to the point of leaving only the iron core. The planet left requiem's influence and remained in the frigid orbit of Nocturne ever since, like Requiem returned the world lent to it worn and ruined.
