F'omol is a ecumenopolis matryoshka world located in the Southern Polar Jets of the Tarmalyula Galaxy.

History

Formation

F'omol formed around a 'rich star', stars that form with a least 8 to at most 25 planets. F'omol formed with one of its two moons, Macaredi. Both had a high amount metals and volatiles. After two hundred million years, both F'omol and Macaredi cooled down. During this time, another protoplanet carrying loads of water smashed in Macaredi, shattering it, and delivering water down to the surface of F'omol. The debris coalesced, and two moons arose from the ashes of one. Smoharya was the small, rocky core of the old Macaredi, orbiting in close to F'omol, and the New Macaredi was the mantle, crust of Old Macaredi and the entire of the protoplanet. Macaredi was a hot, molten world with a steam atmosphere, and Smoharya was a rocky iron world pulling huge breakers on the new oceans of F'omol.

Rise of Life

In the hot steamy world of F'omol, life arose near the surface, heated by the volcanic eruptions that were common at the time. Life erupted into existence, covering every inch of the planet within five million years. The surface was covered in sludge, single celled creatures fighting it out for a chance at life. After a billion years of this sludge world, one cell managed to find its way into another cell, forming the first multi-cellular organism. After this quantum leap, multicellular life spread everywhere. By this time, Macaredi had colled down and its atmosphere condensed into a world-spanning ocean. Temperatures fell, and icecaps formed. A asteroid that collided with F'omol, carrying life from F'omol to Macaredi. On Macaredi, life regressed back into unicellular existence, covering the poles in a mossy substance. Back on F'omol, however, life progressed in leaps and bounds. Trees, fish, mammals, reptiles, insects, and all manner of other forms of life that haven't been discovered or named.

Rise of the Xyol

In this huge melting pot of life, many lifeforms arose, looked up at the stars and died. Only one managed to look up, and keep looking up, the Xyol. The curious bipeds covered the planet, building cities here there and everywhere. They looked up, and saw Smoharya and Macaredi. They saw that Macaredi was habitable, and so devoted their entire civilization to reaching it. Within a few scant centuries, the first Xyol stepped foot on Smoharya as a test run for the Macaredi run, which was to happen in a few months.

First People's Republic of F'omol

When they stepped foot on Smoharya, it ushered in a new age for the Xyol. The age of spaceflight. Within a few decades commercial spaceflight was a reality, they had colonised both Smoharya and Macaredi, and were expanding out into their system. They were confined in their system until they cracked the lightspeed problem, and expanded out. It was around now that the First People's Republic of F'omol was proclaimed, and the urbanising of F'omol began.

As they expanded out they found now other civilizations. They encompassed the entire Tarmalyula Galaxy, and contacted both the Namegi Coalition and the new Kingdom of Rolam in the Namegi and Lance Galaxies respectively.

However it did not last. Life once again arose in the Tarmalyula Galaxy, and the FPRF contracted back to F'omol. As more and more civilizations sprung up, the FPRF declined and shrank, until it no longer had the recourses left to support its population. The FPRF collapsed.

Reclaiming the Stars

As they fell, over 95% of all Xyol died from starvation. Some planets fell completely, but F'omol was not one of them. Its Xyol population struggled on, in the decaying ruins of the world city. As they slowly reclaimed their knowledge, an archaeological expedition uncovered a half-complete FTL drive. They studied it, reproduced it, and with it they reclaimed the stars under the banner of the Confederacy of F'omol.

In nearby systems, the Xyol found other city worlds with other struggling Xyol populations, that had not had the fortune to have a half-constructed FTL drive on their homeworld. The Xyol enlightened them, and over two hundred new Xyol nations were created, each with a former colony world of the old FPRF as their homeworld. This lasted for a couple of centuries until the leader of the CoF held a summit on Macaredi, the famous Macaredi Summit. Half of all nations signed the charted to join with the CoF to form the Second People's Republic of F'omol, which then conquered the rest of the Xyol nation. The Second People's Republic was in business.

Second People's Republic of F'omol

As the SPRF, the Xyol made many changed to their collective homeworld, F'omol. The chief amongst these were the re-urbanising and hollowing out of it, making the planet capable of supporting 1.92 quadrillion individuals, with much more room. There are eleven layers as of 100K CE, two of which are completely urbanised and five moderately urbanised. The top layer is the only one which is completely covered in skyscrapers.

Geography

First Layer - Emolerep

The First Layer of F'omol, also known as Emolerep, encompasses the original surface of the planet. It has a total area of 601 000 000 kilometres squared, all covered in skyscrapers reaching many kilometres in the air. The capital of the planet is located on this layer. The first layer is the only layer that is entirely covered in metal and skyscrapers - no other layer is in this level of urbanisation.

Second Layer - Naccak'i

Naccak'i, the second layer of F'omol, lies twenty kilometres beneath the 'surface' of F'omol. It is a cavity one kilometres high, with two kilometres of ground beneath it until you get to another kilometres of air. Naccak'i is the second most populated layer, after Emolerep. In places, there are vast cities covering hundreds of kilometres, and in others, there are villages and rural areas, but there is no wild on this level. There are no seas, but large lakes and rivers are common.

Third Layer - Tallo

Tallo is the third layer beneath the surface of F'omol, lying twenty-three kilometres beneath the surface. This layer is the third most populated, and his no wild like its twin, Naccak'i. It has les cities and more towns, and is generally a rural copy of the above.

Fourth Layer - Ma-amt

Ma-amt is the fourth layer of F'omol, lying twenty-six kilometres beneath the ground. Ma-amt is the least populated layer, with one major city and a few scattered towns around it. Ma-amt is the place were the wild, once prevalent on the surface, has retreated to. Eventually it will be covered in city, but now for many millenia.

Fifth Layer - Laastan

Sixth Layer - Olasd

Seventh Layer - Uunas

Eighth Layer - Jerenh

Ninth Layer - Avwihir

Tenth Layer - Puvreu

Eleventh Layer - Baben
