Falanji

Falanji is a rocky planet orbiting the star Taurina, only 15 light-years away from the Helix Nebula. It is the homeworld of the Manitauri and capital planet of the Alliance of Planets.

History

42 million years ago, a series of volcanic eruptions planetwide caused a devastating mass extinction resulting in the disappearance of 8 out of every ten species. These eruptions, while still ongoing, have since died down, and allowed the world to heal.

Geography

Falanji has 5 continents. Primus, Exilis, Di'farang, Hy'inth and Soerbus. Falanji is a hot and arid world still recovering from the mass-extinction, covered in various deserts, volcanic springs, scrublands and semi-deserts.

Falanji is covered in hundreds of active volcanoes that often erupt, leaving large swathes of the surface uninhabitable at any given time.

Cities

All Cities on Falanji are built underground, as a way to avoid the scorching midday heat.

Dia'gi'ald - Widely considered to be the global capital of Falanji. This underground Utopia, It is the most populous city on the planet with a population of 31 million.

Sapient Races

The Manitauri are the only sapient species native to Falanji, although before the extinction event three sapient species called Falanji home.

Primussi Wildlife

Common Tetrapteroid - The Pigeons of Falanji. They are found worldwide, though they excell in urban environments such as cities. They are small and friendly even making good pets should someone take the time to earn their trust. They are intelligent and highly social, opportunistic omnivores that feed on just about anything they can get their beaks on from 'insects', to seeds, and even processed foods thrown out.
Golden Tetrapteroid - an extremely rare species, similar in appearance to the Common Tetrapteroid, it on;y lives in a handful of canyons near Primus's coasts
Falconid Tetrapteroid - A large predatory Tetrapteran. They will attack and eat any smaller creature. particularly the Common Tetrapteroid. They have adapted well to city life, similarly to the Peregrine Falcon on Earth
Giant Tetrapteroid - the planet’s largest Tetrapteroid species, with a wingspan of 160 feet. These creatures can be found across the planet, but only nest on Primus’s mountain peaks.
Blue Spheniscine Tetrapteroid - the most common creature along Primus’s coastlines.
Giant Tetrosloth - Massive herbivores that resemble the Ground Sloths of Earth. They are close relatives of the Manitauri

Culture

As the capital planet of the Alliance of Planets, Falanji has become a melting pot of different alien species and cultures, every sapient species in the alliance is able to live on the planet.
