Fantastic Frontliners

The Fantastic Frontliners were a superhero team that operated in the Washington DC area during the Golden Age of Heroism. The team was created and backed by the U.S. Government to be sent off to fight the Axis Powers' own superpowered soldiers in Europe. The team also toured the U.S. to drum up public support and funds for the war effort. The Frontliners were selected by the US Government to be the most powerful heroes possible. While to the public it seemed that the Frontliners operated independently they were truthfully tightly controlled by government officials, they would have to do any mission, enforce any law and deal with any person regardless of if they agreed with it, lest they be removed from the team and publicly disgraced, forcing them into hiding.

The Frontliners' only known major mission was stopping Captain Nazi from awakening several Kaiju laying dormant on Ymir's Island. Soon after the war ended the Frontliners were disbanded when the Return to Normalcy Act was enacted, making public superhuman activity illegal.
