SpaceEngine is a massive part of our community, both historically and currently. Thousands of images and ideas have spawned from it, and version 0.980 has been the largest source of inspiration in the past 10 years of the community. Sadly, version 0.980 often does not work with modern drivers.

Thus this tutorial will serve as a quick-start guide in how to make SpaceEngine 0.980 and its 0.980e patch work with more modern systems, as well as an easy to access location for the version's instillation folder.

The issue with older SE versions on newer computer drivers is that the 0.980 program is entirely ''incompatible'' due to drivers long since updating past it. Instead of reverting to older drivers, the Profile Inspector effectively ''bypasses'' this limitation, allowing your PC to run 0.980 through an unconventional workaround.

No need to worry about any of these files. All you’re doing is configuring Space Engine to function with newer drivers without making any changes to the drivers themselves.
