History
The planet Heria was once home to the Tyrrisk alien species. The species could walk on two legs and appeared humanoid. They lived in villages and small towns, and primarily were ruled by monarchs. The Tyrrisk lived peacefully until the advent of humans in 2213 CE. The Tyrrisk were fearful of the settlers due to the often tragic and violent steps taken to reduce the native population. Within 60 years, the Tyrrisk were eradicated, save for some who lived in isolation in the Migranth Mountains.
Herian human civilization was built slowly over time, especially due to the small number of inhabited planets in the Peleunsk (M 110) galaxy. Wars were only fought over the establishment of nations and territorial boundaries and resulted in endeavors of conflict and peace. Almost 800 years passed before the planet Heria finally coalesced all independent nations into a global republic. The founding of the planet-wide republic helped to boost Heria's influence in the galaxy. Multiple companies and privately-owned institutions established themselves on the planet due to good financial success and employment.
Herian civilization flourished peacefully for almost three thousand years. However, the general stability was soon to be upended by a great conflict surrounding the decision on a capital planet for the galactic government. The military conflict that grew out of the decision was called the "Placement War", which lasted only two years (5991-5992 CE). The galaxy was divided between choosing the first-colonized planet New Terra or the wealthy centrally-located Heria as the seat of government. The fighting could be considered intense from time-to-time, but the victory fell to Herian and allied forces. New Terra was allowed entry into the galactic government, albeit some concessions had to be made in reparations. The name of the old government was changed to better allow for a sense of unity across the galaxy.
Herian history has been peaceful, except for governmental stagnancy. Healthcare advanced on Heria has been used as a standard for improving the lives of citizens everywhere.
