Scope: Glimpse of Honor
From Amaranth Legacy, available at amaranth-legacy.community

The Demons are long gone, but the world is still aflame.
This content is a part of Glimpse of Honor.

After the Ages of the Gods and their first Children (see Mythology), humanity steps into the world. This section chronicles the rise of humans, the formation of their first settlements and kingdoms, and their struggles against the lingering Beasts and emerging threats. Here, you will follow the story of Edna as humans begin to shape the lands themselves, eventually giving rise to new faiths, alliances, and the foundations of Nevaitism.

III - Age of Discovery

The Age of Discovery marks the dawn of humanity in Edna. Humans appear across the lands, forming their first proto-cultures and learning to survive in a world still shaped by the remnants of the Primordial Beasts. Hunter-gatherer communities gradually give rise to early settlements and kingdoms, taking the first steps toward civilization.

During this Age, several of the first human kingdoms are founded. Ilis and Ardos rise in the lands of the Heliones, the People of the Sun, while Tekeriséa and Anagiséa emerge in the highlands of the Ankaniséans, the People of the High Mountains. These early realms begin to define borders, establish leadership, and develop traditions that will guide their peoples for generations.

Humans also encounter the lingering Beasts of old. Some are hunted to extinction, while others inspire early beliefs and rituals. From the perspective of Nevaitism, these scattered practices mark humanity’s first steps into pagan faith, drawing guidance from fleeting shadows of the old world rather than the true wisdom of Neva.

As human realms strengthened and expanded, their growing confidence was tested by the great confrontations with various Elder Beasts.

The Decline of the Elder Beasts

For eleven years, smoke and fire descended from the Themodean Mountains as the Themodean Drake emerged from its long slumber. Settlements burned, trade routes collapsed, and entire valleys were abandoned. The Helionean state of Ilis eventually organized sustained military campaigns against the creature, mobilizing trained hunting bands and state forces until the Drake was finally slain.

In the southern reaches of Tanra, the arrival of the Great Maku stirred more than fear. Vast in size and relentless in its movement, the beast trampled northern territories while, in Oakania, it was revered as a sacred embodiment of strength. The Ankaniséan realm of Tekeriséa pursued and ultimately slew the creature, an act that led to war with Oakania. The conflict concluded with Tekeriséa establishing itself as a dominant force in the region for years to come.

Across the waters of the Mesothalassa, sailors spoke in hushed tones of Thyssa, the great serpent of the deep. The Mosonian kingdom of Shinko, whose people had long inhabited Igrin and the scattered islands of Mesothalassa, mounted a daring maritime expedition against the Beast. During the confrontation, Thyssa was gravely wounded. Whether it sank lifeless beneath the waves or retreated into the unseen depths remains uncertain. No confirmed sighting followed, and it stands as the final recorded Elder Beast incident within Ercadia and Tanra.

By the end of these events, the presence of the Elder Beasts had waned across the known lands, and humanity’s confidence in its growing strength reached new heights.
