The Iyulo Free States was a short-lived dictatorial nation residing in the Remone Arm of the Tarmalyula Galaxy. It declared its independence from the Commonwealth of Golr're in 93 983, and collapsed with the conclusion of the Succession of Tarmalyula in 95 083, with 2100 years of existence. They claimed the worlds of Marola, Convasce and Gemonia from the CoG when they delcared their independence, officially splitting the Iyulo species into two nations.
History
The IFS was founded on the 2nd of January, 93 983 in the midst of the beginning of the Succession of Tarmalyula. It declared its independence from the CoG, splitting the Iyulo species into two nations. It did not really fight in the war, having a scant military and a failing economy for most of its existence, and only started to pick up towards the end of the war, when the CoG turned its attention to it. It officially fell with the capture of Marola by the CoG, rendering the centralised nation without a capital and a leader, plunging it into darkness.
Succession of Tarmalyula
During the Succession of Tarmalyula, the nation was barely surviving, with over 80% of its people in poverty, and famines were very common. It's 3 824 systems did not provide it with enough resources to maintain its highly luxurious capital, Marola. Convasce and Gemonia were poverty worlds, with less than 1% of their population having a roof over their head and something to eat. Despite this, over 5% of Marolans lived in a state of perpetual bliss and happiness, all Iyulo. The Thrinl, the working class and secondary race of the IFS, were shipped off-world and worked often to the death to provide food for the ruling class.
Towards the end of the war, these figures had dropped, with 2% of people on the two colonies having roofs and food, and nationwide 40% of people were in poverty. The military of the nation grew, and so did their ambition.
Because of the abhorrent leadership by their Dictator, M'nae Emon, they built and lost their military in one small battle, trying to take the world of Hportem from the CoG. Their military was decimated, and they were left open to attack. The CoG then took notice, and quickly captured Convasce and Gemonia. Having no industrial basis left to support the hedonism on Marola, the world descended into crime and lawlessness. M'nae Emon was assassinated, and his name almost written out of history. Luckily, the CoG came along and ended the poor nations suffering, capturing Marola and liberating the Thrinl.

Location
The IFS was located near the core worlds of the CoG, in the outer Remone Arm of the Tarmalyula Galaxy. Its position was in a relatively resources and planet poor area of the galaxy, rendering the nation sterile and unable to terraform or colonise planets.
