Julatheena

Overview

Julatheena (known also as Etreain, Eragale, Fanavyl amongst other titles) is an immensely large terra planet; third planet of the Jakornus System within the Far-West Systems region of the Realm of Resonance. At approximately 76,000 kilometers in diameter; Julatheena is the largest known terrestrial planet in the Ambrosia Galaxy, and as such, it hosts a vast myriad of lifeforms. An astounding thirteen native sapient races inhabit the planet; the most of any known world in the modern galaxy. The most galactically prominent sentient species of Julatheena is that of the Jaslith; an Amanoid race who has had an immense impact on galactic history since their emergence as a spacefaring civilization.

Due to its massive size and population, Julatheena is one of the few worlds in the known galaxy to have retained planetary national independent governments following its accession to a space-fairing society. The largest of these nations being that of the Juiletic Empire, which holds control over the planet's largest continent of Etriamor; although its control is largely ceremonial by this stage, as the vast majority of their power is within their many other territorial holdings across thousands of other star systems.

This lack of a centralized global hegemony has resulted in the planet's position within intragalactic governance throughout history to be a rather complicated web of interstellar treaties, free-trade agreements, and neutral non-combat zones between diametrically opposed celestial superpowers. The most notable example of this would be its position between the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems (AAUS) and the Sanlagosa Concordant; the two most powerful nation-states/alliance of states for most of modern history. Prior to the latter's destruction, Julatheena was cut near cleanly down the equatorial line, with the northern hemisphere ruled by the Concordant, and the southern controlled by the Alliance. The largest region unaligned with either superpower would be that of the aforementioned continent of Etriamor, as the Juiletic Empire was powerful enough to maintain total autonomy

After the Concordant's seemingly anomalous dissolution in 84 EE (Ends Emergence), extra-terrestrial control over the nations of the planetary north fractured amongst the "Concordant Breakaway" states. This rule would not last long, however, as they too would mysteriously vanish after their own destruction 90 EE, control over the north largely fell to the dominant Juiletic Empire. Although capable of consolidating rule over the planetary north; the Juiletic Empire instead elected to hand control back to the independent nations that once inhabited it as the Empire had long ago focused their ambitions on extra-planetary conquest.

Juliet's Ring

Like many worlds across the universe, Julatheena possess a large concentric ring stretching around its equatorial line. However; unlike all other known ring systems in the galaxy, the ring of Julatheena does not comprise a mass of gravitationally bound ejecta materials, but instead comprises of a single solidified structure whose date of creation remains a documented instance within relative modern history. An extensive solid structure of metal and stone stretching along the whole of the planet's diameter dominates a great deal of the planet's equatorial skyline.

Native Species

Jaslith

The Jaslith are the predominant species of Julatheena and can be seen in great number across every region and resident nation of the planet. They are predominantly found within the territorial holdings of the Juiletic Empire; as they are the imperial federation's respective founding race.

Due to their prominence on the planet; the Jaslith have been the forerunning species for most of recorded history, with a member of their race acting as the torch bearing force of all of Julatheena's greatest world shaping events. The most notable of their species would be that of Juliet Carolina, who had founded the Juiletic Empire which bares her name during the War of the Sapphire Skies by uniting the majority regions of the Jaslith, Jatrius, and Januula species.
