The Jyial Imperium Remnants
The Jyial Imperium Remnants is a federation of small subnations controlling around 20 percent of the Bastion Globular Cluster. Despite its small size, it boasts a high Kardashev rating of 2.9. It is the oldest civilization in the entire Asamun/Binasa galaxy by a significant margin, with a founding date of 33,251 CE. It was once the most powerful civilization in Asamun/Binasa before its descent into chaos.
Government
The government of the Jyial Imperium is, essentially, an empire. However, after its collapse, no single major entity controls all of its territories. Each region is governed differently, ranging from republics to near-anarchy. The highest title remains the Emperor, though it is mostly ceremonial at this time. The most influential role is the Federation President, a position created after the collapse to prevent the remnants from succumbing to infighting and complete dissolution.
Early FTL Era (33,251 CE–33,730 CE)
Before the establishment of the Jyial Imperium, there was the Jyial Republic. It was founded in the Bastion Globular Cluster even before the Jyials had developed FTL (Faster Than Light) drives, as a means to unify and control the colonies in their home solar system. Not long after its formation, the Jyials developed the simplest FTL drive and began sending early probes to nearby star systems. These probes were sent by the Jyial Republic, which oversaw the exploration of their stellar neighborhood.
During these explorations, they discovered a habitable planet orbiting a K-class star and promptly sent a colony ship. As more habitable planets were discovered, additional colony ships were constructed and dispatched to their respective destinations, marking the beginning of the Expansion Era.
Expansion Era (33,730 CE–34,250 CE)
The Expansion Era began when the first colony ships reached their destinations. After establishing basic infrastructure, small outposts gradually grew into cities, eventually becoming capable of constructing their own colony ships. Meanwhile, the home system developed extensive infrastructure to support nearby colonies and produced even more colony ships.
The Jyials colonized the entirety of the Bastion Globular Cluster within a relatively short period (approximately 100 years). They also established outposts in the main galaxy, the Asamun/Binasa galaxy. Over the course of roughly 300 years, the Jyials colonized the entire galaxy, concluding the Expansion Era.
Stability Era (34,250 CE–41,200 CE)
The Stability Era, as its name suggests, was a period of relative peace and stagnation. Not much of significant note occurred during this time, except for the assassination of the president toward the era's end. This event created a power vacuum that was quickly filled by the assassin, who later became known as the first Emperor.
Jyial Imperium Era (41,200 CE–55,160 CE)
The Jyial Imperium Era began when the Jyial Republic was officially renamed the Jyial Imperium. The first Emperor introduced a hereditary system to "prevent corruption in the highest ranks" and implemented a caste system to "ensure that people could perform their work more effectively." However, the real purpose of these changes was to consolidate his power.
The Emperor and his successors were able to maintain control over the empire for a prolonged period due to the Jyials' deep-rooted cultural tendency to rarely question authority. This resulted in a near-perfect stability for the nation during this era.
