Kamiahaux

The Kamiahaux are a highly advanced sapient species from the planet Trobatov, located about 380 light years from the sun. The Kamiahaux are one of the alien races in the Alliance of Planets.

History

The Kamiahaux are part of a diverse lineage of vertebrate fauna that first evolved approximately 100 million years ago, however the anatomically modern Kamiahaux only appeared around 1 million years ago. In approximately 4,000 BCE, the Kamiahaux unified as a species following a treaty signed by the two superstates that controlled all of Trobatov.

Appearance and Biology

The Kamiahaux are quadrupedal hexapods that mostly lack pigmentation in their skin, instead being mainly white or light gray. The mid and hind limbs of the Kamihaux are used for walking, while the forelimbs are much shorter and possess the ability to grasp objects. Kamiahaux have resonating crests atop their heads similar to those seen in the extinct Hadrosaurs of Earth, and are used for the same purpose. The eyes of the Kamiahaux are evolved to be able to see exceptionally well in the dark at the cost of color vision. Due to their extremely light sensitive eyes, Kamiahaux typically wear protective eyewear when off-world. The jaws of the Kamiahaux are relatively strong and lack teeth, having sharp, boney plates instead.

Diet

The Kamiahaux are omnivorous, with a large part of their diet consisting of the fungi-like flora and cnidarian-like fauna that inhabit the surface of Trobatov. These organisms in turn, feed off of the nutrient-rich rain produced by the algae-like organisms that inhabit the upper troposphere of Trobatov. The Kamiahaux also feed on a variety of smaller animal life whom they share the surface of Trobatov with.

Culture

The Kamiahaux are a culture that put a lot of emphasis on scientific progress, as well as many forms of literature from encyclopedias, to fiction, and virtually all forms of poetry. Music is also a very prominent feature of Kamiahaux culture, given the resonating crests that all individuals possess, allowing for a wide range of vocal capabilities. A lot of Kamiahaux music bears a lot of auditory similarities to some of mankind's music; especially music in the genre of things like opera and darkwave.

Society and Government

At the core of Kamiahaux society are five key values: hospitality, progress, liberty, diligence, and knowledge. As a result, the Kaimiahaux are generally renowned throughout the galactic community as very proficient diplomats, writers, and scientists. The government of Trobatov can be described as being staunchly democratic socialist, while also incorporating some more technocratic elements into governance. Despite its mainly anti-war stance, the government in Trobatov is even more anti-genocide. As a result the Kamiahaux's foreign policy and their constitution states that the main purpose of Trobatov's armed forces aside from the defense of their territory and of the Alliance, is to subdue through military force, any government or organization actively committing atrocities against a civilian population.

The biology of the Kamiahaux was inspired by a range of both extinct and extant animals of Earth such as the okapi, paraceratherids, lambeosaurids, cranes, and members of dunkleosteidae.
The Kamiahaux were first created in the 2008 video game Spore.
Trobatov's ecosystem is partially based off of that present in the deep sea.
