Kor
Most famous for developing the notorious Javelins, you could say that the elite scientists on Kor won the First Aeno-Vasden War. The first astrofighters were developed here, as well as most effective military designs. It was one of the first planets colonized in the Atrium. Millions of years ago, it was a regular temperature, but since then it's star has cooled to a white dwarf, freezing the star system.
The ice world is peppered with gargantuan craters, a leftover from it's intense primordial bombardment era, while colossal ice sheets cover juvenile continents. Massive databanks are stored deep in the permafrost, ideal for cooling the ceaseless servers. The dominant life form (besides the Aeno) are intelligent beings known as the Icehuggers. They scrape the top of ice sheets for microscopic plankton and nutrients. . They are similar in appearance to their stellar cousins, the Star Rays, who roam the surrounding star systems, slowly digesting cosmic microparticles.
Notable Locations
- Fortress Exgel - The hyperborean surface is ideal for constructing defensive bulwarks, as munitions struggle to penetrate the superdense permafrost. Fortress Exgel demonstrates this beautifully, becoming a common reference among fortress architects. Hidden deep underground is the command centre of the citadel, protected from all but the most volatile explosives.
- Station Rho - The central testing facility on Kor, it features countless artificial environments, from lava flats to simulated zero g debris fields, Station Rho has it all.
- Asteroid Moon Qarvel - Before the invention of Javelin Drives, Aeno used massive gateways to travel the stars. Qarvel was previously a bustling gateway, with ships transiting daily. But once the Javelin Drives were fully implemented, the now obsolete gateway asteroid fell into ruin. The derelict asteroid is now a hub for traders, exchanging scientific oddities to be studied on Kor, for sweet cash.
