Discovered and initially colonised in 2247, Luma (RS 8474-1353-8-11843423-423 2 in 0.980) is a Selena-type world orbiting a red dwarf, 9.21 lightyears from Earth and served as a mining world due to the amount of gold it contains underground and the some of the salt deposits on the surface.

Luma is tidally locked, has no moons and possesses a thin atmsophere of Carbon Dioxide and Methane.

Geography

Luma doesn't have much to offer in terms of environment as its surface is barren, almost littered with impact craters as well as some active volcanoes which was a suprise, given the planet's very old age of around 10 billion years. Many hills. canyons, ridges and mountains can be found here as well.

History

Luma formed 10 billion years ago in a stellar disk surrounding its infant star. It is believed that Luma may have once been a moon of the system's third planet, a gas giant, due to the relatively close distance between them. The grooves are likely left over from ancient lava flows that have since dried out.

It is currently under control by the Markwell Mining corporation, due to its aforementioned riches of gold and other valuable resources. These are usually shipped off to other colonised systems via automated spacecraft.

Daily Life

Residents of Luma live inside small domed cities, scattered across the surface, some connected by highspeed trains.

Although life quality isn't the heat here, workers make do, as there are plenty of residential blocks within the domes, along with farms for growing crops and even some areas for leisure. As Luma is tidally locked, people have to work on a timed schedule.
