Mapinguari
The Mapinguari is a species of ground sloth endemic to the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest. It is the only species of ground sloth that exists without help from the Greene Foundation's De-Extinction Campaign, though other terrestrial sloths also exist in places like the Lost World Plateau they are not very closely related.
Description
Mapinguari have subdermal osteoderms, which make most forms of ammunition ineffective against them.
The Mapinguari is an extremely foul-smelling animal with long hair, robust claws, and capable of both quadrupedal and bipedal locomotion
Ecology
adult Mapinguari have very few natural predators, only being threatened by Jaguars and Giant Anacondas
