Overview

The Martian civil war was a war fought on mars between 2163 and 2166 against the Union and Martian Republicans. This would come after the attempted Union coup against the Martian republic causing outrage and eventual conflict between the two factions.

The war would be fought across the plains and hills of mars, with major wargoals being capturing cities compared to fighting over large frontlines, as seen with other conflicts. This would be one of planetwide conflicts fought without direct support from the UN or Earth, simply due to the distance.

Pre-war

The Martian countries would be in a incredibly tense cold war, an extension of Earth's very own cold war between the United Nations and Corporatocratic states. The nations on Mars, originally set up by Earth powers in the "first wave" or "pioneer era" would now be somewhat well developed and self sufficient, and calls for Martian independence or autonomy would soon rise. Seeing the current situation and rising tensions on Earth, the United Nations would let go of their colonies on Mars, forming the Martian Republic.

The Corporatacratic states would do similar, however they would attempt to install a puppet Oligarchich friendly government in place of the United Nations system. This would anger the former UN colonies, causing the civil war.
