Mecha-Cytes are medium-sized tick-like biotechnological creatures created by the Denisovans. They were created to bond exclusively with hominids, as parasitic creatures they need to bond with a host to survive outside of a specific environment.
History
The Mecha-Cytes were developed as weapons to be used against the Progenitors during the Great Progenitor-Hominid War.
In 2018 Cipher Ambrose uncovered a containment chamber deep in the Atlantic Ocean, holding four unbonded Mecha-Cytes. When mechanical engineer, Axton Britt, accidentally broke a time portal generator. As punishment, Axton was fused with a Mecha-Cyte who called itself Trilobite. Axton took the Mecha-Cyte's name as inspiration for his alter-ego
Biology
The biological components of a Mecha-Cyte is made up of a variety of Arthropods, mostly ticks of the order Ixodida. Elements of Isopods, (Cymothoa exigua, Bathynomus giganteus), Head Lice (Pediculus humanus), and Parasitoid Wasps, (Megarhyssa macrurus, Capitojoppa amazonica, Clistopyga crassicaudata) are also in the genome.
