The Mediterranean Biodiversity Project (MBP) is a joint effort between the Greene Foundation and governments of Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Malta, Italy and France, with the joint goal of restoring biodiversity to the various Mediterranean Islands. This Includes reintroducing species that had fallen into extinction as well as protecting creatures already present and installing protections for the unique island ecosystems.
So far the Project has proved successful, with the influx of unique and rare wildlife resulting in a tourism boom and influx of money to the economy.

Effects
Since the reintroductions and protections given to the local wildlife, farmers report a greater and more productive crop yield. Most residents of the islands say they are happy to see the variety of life thriving outside, and many people have been able to secure well paying jobs as tour guides or other wildlife-centric careers.
In Sicily the return of forested areas has caused the island to steadily begin experiencing more rainfall and a cooler climate
