The megaoptera
The Megaoperta were an alien species native to Aiden a billion years ago, they are the creators of protolythium which was a vital component of their technology. After they were gone the protolythium formed deposits deep underground, the MegaOptera resembled giant humanoid butterfly creatures and they seeded much of the universe with life.
The Megaoptera evolved on Aiden around a billion years ago and formed a civilization which lasted 200 million years. They pursued spiritual enlightenment through scientific advancement eventually they discovered a way to live forever by engineering their conscious minds into the universe itself, they then became the gods we know today, beings of order in a universe of chaos. They were even responsible for the creation of the universe they themselves evolved in as when they engineered their minds into the fabric of the universe it not only freed them from space but also time. They are the ones who took power from the primordial monster and created a coherent ordered reality for all of us to live in, before the universe there was only chaos and writhing monsters in the void but the Megaopetera changed this through this bootstrap paradox. This is how order came to be, order can only come from order
Now the Megaoptera control all the creative forces of the universe and fight against decay but one day they will lose and the universe will plunge down into the same state of chaos it used to be in because order cannot last forever.

-the megaoptera are the beings we call gods, each megaoptera controls certain parts of the universe and this is where the idea of certain gods controlling certain forces came from (thor controlling lightning for example)
-the megaoptera sometimes rebirth themselves as mortal beings to learn lessons this is often done to younger individuals who were never mortal to begin with
-the Megaoptera still reproduce themselves even in their non-corporeal state, they have children
