Menaus, also known as A66, is a three arm galaxy, an the epicenter of the events happening within the Veil Scope. The Galaxy is home to several forms of sapient life and the center of exchange between the Veil and the Physical Realm. It has around 50 billion stars, 10 000 Nebulas and 75 star clusters. The shadow of this galaxy within the cognitive realm of the Veil is colloquially known as "The Mirror".

The most extended species by far within the Menaus Galaxy are Humans and Humanoid derived species. However other species exist, like the Devet, the Norgi, the Grun and the Mora'kaiti among others.

History

Is it really a myth?

According to ancient tales, the Galaxy was created by the shock of three deities. This is unknown and confirmed to be just legends and rumours. Some consider this true however. This three deities were Onse, the god of existence and concience, Abali, the god of matter and order and Mele, the goddess of the void and destruction. The battle between Abali and Mele caused Onse's fragmentation, scattering his essence all across the universe (Menaus in this case) and seeding distant worlds with life (issued from his body) and sapient life (issued from his soul). From his concious arouse the other deities that were prone to organized the matter and the void to create the universe and awaken the sapient life and give it a shape so their adoration made the gods more present and strong.

The Deities formed the Galaxies and according to stories and divided them among themselves. Thus the deities on Menaus, as numerous as they can be, are just a fraction confined to the galaxy of Menaus. This gods arose from primordial forces, then as the sapient species awoke, they brought to life other gods. Worshipping in the real world creates through Maudrum (the power of creation or negentropy) or Koros (power of destruction or entropy) a deity in the Veil which could move to the real world if the worship was strong enough.

What is known

Based on archeological and scientifical studies, the Galaxy was form about 100 million years ago but the first ever existence of sapient life did not happened till 50 million years ago in the form of the Kanai, an ancient race.

The Cut

Unknown how or when, a specific ritual took place that cut the deities from the physical realm in Menaus, rendering them free of servitude. This was called the Cut, and was realized after the Deities entered in war among themselves to monopolized the worship of the sapient life in the Galaxy, craving more power for themselves. To save the Galaxy, some gods and mages worked together, narrowing down the amount of Koros (Destruction) and Maudrum (Creation) the main forces that allowed deities to manifest in the Physical realm. This act was successful and from then on, Deities can barely manifest on the physical realm except through passive means, elusive momentary ways, or very tiny Maudrum holes in the fabric of reality.

The Cut created large scale destruction and the massive exodus of Humans specially across the galaxy, thus why it is the main species within Menaus. Many species died off as their worlds completely taken by a specific deity were destroyed. Millenia of destruction followed but eventually, all chaos calmed down and returned to normality, allowing sapient life to thrive once more.

Geography

The Galaxy has three arms, known as Huva, Lambrea and Yeokis

Nucleus and Inner Ring

Very dense in stars but not dense in population or worlds.

Lambrea

Is the smallest arm, but is dense in stars and populated. It is divided in 3 segments: Sapot Segment, the Metharis Segment and the Zial Segment,

Huva

The longest arm and the one containing the most amount of stars and worlds. Its density and population vary greatly. It is divided in 7 Segments: Vitroi Segment, Runon Segment, Jeu Segment, Karafi Segment, Urathee Segment, Ison Segment and Rexandi Segment

Yeokis

This arm is the second largest. Its divided in 5 Segments: Ajana Segment, Hotar Segment, Ur'Kani Segment, Lixun Segment and Vebbegut Segment

Political Landscape

Kurûni Necromantic Empire

Magitocracy of Lotharian

Travel Method

There are three forms of travel. The main travelling methods within Menaus use the Powers of Meles and/or Mosh which essentially, once combined, can bend space and time and traverse the void deprived of anything.

Ordinary travel or Meles Travel

Using just the power of Meles, the power of the void, a large spacecraft can be pushed through the emptyness of space to a destination, this form of travel is the least expensive and the slowest one. However it can be accelerated by the use of Eda, in the form of manipulating obscurity and or light. This form is preferred within inter-system travel.

Hypertravel or Combinated Travel

The combination of Meles and Mosh allows travel through the Veil itself for a brief time in what is known as "Hyper routes". The power of the void allows to push the vessel through the empty void and Mosh bends over reality and time to fast-forwards the vessel travel time and location, using the Mirror Galaxy in the process. This is the preferred method for short or mid-distance travel within the Galaxy and sometimes long travel as well although the time and energy required for traversing the Galaxy from one corner to the opposite side can be exhausting, costly and even slow.

Instant Travel or Mosh travel

The use of just Mosh in large quantities can allow instant travel from point A to point B, the amount of Mosh energy and mages required for such a task is so big, it is realistically rare and expensive to realize. This form of travel is used only in special and rare ocasion and Hyper travel is usually preferred. For very long distances with a large cargo, this method can be used. This form of travel is considered a magical spectacle by many who witness the Mosh mages work in syncrony.
