Midregions
The Midregions are the second most populated region of the galaxy behind Colonized Space with 252 trillion residents. On average, most of its systems have populations anywhere from 1,000 to 1,000,000, though several million of its systems are considered colonized - all near the periphery. While not nearly as diverse in terms as population as civilization's interior, it is still a lively region that is a hub for exploratory ships hailing from Colonized Space. The IXS Wyvern, an exploratory vessel launched on May 1, 6800, is a prime example of one of these ships and is currently on a 20 year mission to explore untouched planets in the Midregions hands on. Like Colonized Space, the Midregions are divided into subregions, though 4 of them rather than 8. Each contains around 4 billion star systems and are listed below:
