The Orpheus System (formerly the Mirdecres System until 9992) is a ten-planet system orbiting the star Orpheus in the Indulus Galaxy, which is turn resides within the Pisces-Cetus Supercluster. It resides 917.052 million light-years from the Sol System, making it one of the most distant charted systems. It was discovered by Augustus Mirdecres, a world-renowned scientist and inventor of the Maximus warp drive, in 9201 AD. The Mirdecres System is the only planetary system not to be located in the Virgo Supercluster or Laniakea Supercluster, much like all other members of the Intergalactic Confederacy. In fact, the only reason the Mirdecres System can be a part of the Confederacy at all is because of the Xcathli's quantum looping technology, which can cover the distance at speeds of up to 1,000,000,000,000C thanks to their incredibly advanced technology. The planet Klar'ik'ii is home to the system's only life, a mid-Type 0 civilization by the name of the Klar'ik (pronoucned like cleric).
