Mon Domastas

Scope: Strataverse
From Amaranth Legacy, available at amaranth-legacy.community

What is this, some kind of Strata Verse?
This content is within or about the Strataverse.

Mon Domastas is an earth-like exoplanet in the Milky Way galaxy, notable for its unique fauna, as well as the fact that the planet’s core is composed of a mysterious energy, known as Mondo Energy that irradiates the entire planet.

Thankfully Mondo Energy is not harmful, but being exposed to it for millions of years has caused the native flora and fauna of the planet to have developed powerful elemental abilities alongside other superpowerful abilities.

Geography

Mon Domastas is comprised primarily of a large supercontinent with several well-defined regions within. As well as several smaller continents and island regions.

In addition to the terrain the crust of Mon Domastas is porous and hollow in some places, forming expansive underground caverns similar to Dante’s Pit on Earth.

Mon Domastas’ primary continental landmass is called Monata Poé,

Some notable regions on Monata Poé are the Statosa, Lakon, Jomba and Inuta regions.

Statosa is a temperate region, formerly glacial, covered in dense boreal forests and wetlands, with thousands of lakes scattered about.

Jomba is a region dominated by tropical savannah and acacia woodlands with pockets of tropical rainforest. It is among the most biodiverse regions on the continent.

Inuta lies just south of the Northern Pole of Mon Domastas it is mostly glacial ranges, fjords, coastal temperate rainforests and high montane areas.

Other Insular landmasses include the Crikea region, Vivaur Island

Sapient Races

Mon Domastas is home to many sapient species, rivaling Earth in diversity. The dominant species are the Humo, an anthropomorphic species that could be mistaken for a human at a glance if not for their large eyes and multicolored hair

The Humo have a rich history, rife with various conflicts, religions and mythologies but one constant across the entire planet is the Humo’s coexistence and close bond with the native creatures of their world.

The Humo and other sapient races have been able to live in harmony with the natural world, forming several near utopian societies across the planet.

Due to coexistence with the various creatures native to their world the Humo have evolved to become an incredibly resilient people. Able to shrug off powerful elemental attacks that would cripple or kill a human, with only faint marks that quickly fade away,

Other sapient races on the planet include…

Dinauran - an ancient race related to the Vivaurs, and like them once thought extinct, these anthropomorphic dinosaur-like people pioneered fossil-revival technology.

They also possess battle forms they can transform into at will, that allow them to act like Vivaurs in battle.

Wildlife

Mon Donastas is an extremely ecologically diverse planet, providing habitat for tens of thousands of unique species, and despite their technological advancement the Humo are still discovering new species on a yearly basis

  • Gymnothkorch - appearing like gigantic terrestrial moray eels, Gymnothkorch use a tar-like substance that covers their body to create fire that they can then control. A Gymnothkorch can also spit the substance, either from its mouth or from several siphons in their gill slits to ignite fires from afar.

Slugs

  • Estro-Gaster

Vivaurs

  • Vivaurs are ancient creatures that once roamed across the planet but went extinct millions of years ago, though modern Humo and Dinauran technology have allowed these magnificent dinosaur-like beasts to roam again.

Other

  • Dentark - Shark-like creatures that have a singular, denture-like tooth. They are effective predators, however when they shed their teeth they are left without their primary weapon and often go hungry until the tooth regrows.
