Overview

Nythrana Silverglow (OA-03) is a female Dracthyra and prominent member of the Onyx Armada of the Champions of Haven. Born in 2,946 YM, in the Imperial Province of Captimia, Nythrana once served as the eldest daughter of Limethea Silverglow, reigning Empress of the West from 2,970 YM to the present. Nythrana entered the world under the shadow of devastation, her birth marked by the chaos of the waning decades of the Alls-Rule War, a conflict that once engulfed the entirety of the Known World. Like many children of that era, Nythrana was born a bastard, the product of a fleeting union between her mother and a man whose name she would never come to know.

Despite the influence of her family, Nythrana would carve her own path; one in direct defiance of the Westland Empire. Years of whispered slights and open insults regarding her mother’s honor wore away at her patience, but it was Limethea’s outright denial of her birthright in 2,959 YM that proved the final insult, citing her illegitimate status following the birth of her younger sister, Enethena Silverglow, first "true-born" daughter of Limethea.

Fall from Nobility

Spurred by this injustice, Nythrana cast aside any lingering allegiance to the Empire and aligned herself with the Daughters of Rebellion, a formidable interprovincial insurgent group devoted to the subversion of Imperial Authority across the Bariquel Continent. Rising swiftly through the ranks, she became a key figure in the movement, orchestrating numerous covert strikes against Captimia, the heart of imperial power, from 2,991 YM to 2,999 YM.

Her growing infamy earned her the title of "The Crimson Wraith", a name whispered in fear among imperial commanders, who struggled to quell the acts committed by this insurgency. But it was only a matter of time before her defiance drew the attention of the one individual she could not evade; her mother. By 3,000 YM, Nythrana’s true identity as the capital’s single most prominent terrorist at that time was uncovered, forcing her into exile. Branded a traitor, she fled Captimia, abandoning the rebellion she had spent nearly a decade cultivating.

Northhaven Civil-War

Following her exile from Captimia, Nythrana sought refuge in the war-torn province of Northhaven, which had been embroiled in a brutal civil war for the past three years. Recognizing an opportunity to further undermine her mother’s rule, she aligned herself with the Stormblade Rebellion, a militant faction waging war against the Imperial Legion, whom they viewed as occupying forces within the province.

Her defiance ultimately brought her into conflict with Oblivion Mystara and Serendipity, two formidable figures who served within the Imperial Legion at the time. Their paths would cross in the latter months of 3,000 YM, culminating in the Battle of Tenesomhet, where Nythrana faced off against the Amaranth Heir. Though she fought fiercely, she was ultimately defeated. However, rather than executing her, the Amaranth Heir spared her life, having sensed that her true ambition was not to wreak havoc, but to supersede authority itself.

Rise as a Champion

In 3,003 YM, Nythrana became one of the first members to join the newly formed Champions of Haven, an intercontinental organization of heroes sworn to the protection of the planet. Personally sought out by Oblivion Mystara himself, she readily accepted a position within the elite Onyx Armada, the order’s specialized force dedicated to high-risk operations and armed combat. No longer bound by the weight of her lineage, Nythrana forged her own destiny through blood and battle, proving herself as one of the most formidable warriors within the order. Over time, she became one of the most prolific heroes in the Champions of Haven, her name echoing across the war-torn lands not as an exile or rebel, but as a legend in her own right.

Personality

Nythrana is an immensely closed-off individual, a demeanor forged during her years under the rigid and often loveless "care" of her mother and Empress. She carries an air of quiet defiance, rarely allowing others a glimpse into her true thoughts or emotions. Hardened by years of rejection and conflict, she trusts few and speaks less, favoring action over words.

Her time amongst the Daughters of Rebellion and later the Stormblade Rebellion only reinforced her guarded nature, forcing her to adopt a pragmatic and sometimes ruthless approach in order to survive. Yet, despite the walls she has built, there are moments — fleeting and rare as they may be — where the burden of solitude weighs upon her, and she wishes to experience a greater kinship and connection with that of her fellow Champions. Though she often finds this difficult.

Despite these hardships, Nythrana has grown a fondness for Oblivion Mystara, the two of them often connecting for their mutual disdain towards those who seek to control others. Though she'd never openly admit it, this connection has blossomed as a sort of internal unrequited attraction towards the Amaranth Heir. However; as she fully understands that he is both married, and likely to never share this attraction, she chooses to keep this as her own personal secret.

Appearance

As a Dracthyra, Nythrana is a rare hybrid of Dracoling and Mythra, and thus possesses a striking and fearsome presence. Her form embodies the absolute maxim of both her progenitor races, the immense raw power of her Draconic ancestry merged with the refined grace of her Mythreni lineage, whilst retaining both in total harmony.

Her ashen silver hair, wild yet flowing, is a stark contrast to the fiery hues that dominate her primarily scaled body, a telltale sign of her draconic bloodline. Crimson-red scales, hardened like tempered steel, cover much of her form, seamlessly merging into her battle-worn armor, offering both natural and forged protection. Her fiery amber eyes, slit like a Dragon’s, burn with an intense resolve, betraying little emotion save for the smoldering embers of defiance within.

One of her most distinctive features is the partial draconic crest that frames her face; ornate yet sharp ridges of scarlet-hued plating that extend from her temple down her cheek, a manifestation of her latent draconic might. Her arms, partially engulfed in flame-tinged scales, often shimmer with residual heat, pulsing in tandem with the magic that surges through her veins.

When clad in full battle regalia, she dons a form-fitting onyx and crimson cuirass, designed to withstand both magical and physical assaults, while her gauntlets seem to pulse with embers, as if they were forged from the very essence of Flame itself.

Her wings appear smaller in comparison to most Dracthyra or Dracoling, lacking the same lofty wingspan that most of her kin boast. Instead, her wings seem to favor more agile flight rather then sustained or speed, making her able to maneuver in the air with immense grace and skill when compared to others of her make.

Abilities

Magical Aptitude

Nythrana was born a Magic Sensitive, a trait that, when combined with her esoteric racial lineage, allows her to summon and manipulate vast reserves of Mana to enhance her combat prowess. As a result, her natural magical abilities far exceed those of most mortals. She developed a particular aptitude for the Vocation of Destruction Magic, specializing in elemental devastation to obliterate her foes. However, rather than simply wielding raw destruction, she focused her magical study and training on mastering the Element of Lightning, a force she believed would best complement her innate Hemomantic Ability, known as the "Dreadflame."

Lightning magic, known for its speed and lethality, is an ideal complement to her natural combat style. She has developed techniques that allow her to enhance her reflexes, accelerating her movements to immense, near undetectable speeds by most mortals. In battle, she can summon bolts of electricity from the sky, channel arcs of plasma through her weapon, and even use electromagnetic forces to repel or attract metallic objects. Her control is so refined that she can condense Lightning into solid constructs, shaping it into weapons, chains, or barriers that persist for extended periods.

Dreadflame

Dreadflame, a unique form of Pyromancy, is spawned from her inherent Hemomantic Abilities born from her mother's lineage dating all the way back to the ancient Centrallian Dracoling Clan of Firestar, who once wandered the dunes of the Fair-Sand desert of southeastern Captimia. Dreadflame allows Nythrana to convert her own lifeblood into an all-consuming and brilliant crimson fire, which itself serves as an eldritch flame that does not merely burn; it devours, capable of reducing even enchanted armor and magically reinforced barriers to ash. The Dreadflame is notorious for its hunger, feeding upon both the life force of its wielder and the essence of those it consumes, making it both terrifying and volatile, and is often regarded as one of the most potent forms in which the Element of Flame may take, though often regarded second to that of the Everflame.

To counterbalance the risks of this devastating power, Nythrana has honed her Dynamancy (Lighting Manipulation), using its precision and speed to complement the raw brutality of her Hemomantic powers. Through this fusion, she is capable of unleashing attacks of devastating speed and power, using lightning-enhanced Dreadflame techniques to strike foes down before they can react.

Dracthyra Physiology

Being of Dracthyra descent, Nythrana possesses several natural advantages that set her apart from mortal warriors. Her crimson draconic scales provide her with a formidable layer of natural armor, resistant to both mundane and magical attacks. Her partially malformed wings, though not suited for long-distance flight, grant her superior agility in combat, allowing her to perform aerial maneuvers with lethal efficiency.

Her Crimson-Draconic blood also grants her an affinity for fire, rendering her immune to natural flames and highly resistant to even the most advanced pyromantic spells, alongside being able to unleash a jet of Mana drenched Flames from her mouth. However; the Dreadflame she wields is another matter entirely, as it requires strict control to avoid consuming her own body in its hunger for destruction.

Combat Style

Nythrana’s combat methodology is defined by ferocity, precision, and overwhelming force. She engages her foes with a mix of high-speed swordplay, spellcasting, and aerial maneuvering, making her an unpredictable and dangerous opponent. Preferring to keep her enemies on the defensive, she bombards them with rapid, electrified slashes while weaving in bursts of arcane Lightning and crimson Dreadfire, creating a battlefield that is both chaotic and inescapable.

In one-on-one duels, she exploits her superior reflexes and magical augmentation, using her Dreadflame-infused strikes to wear down even the most heavily armored adversaries. Against groups, she employs lightning-fast movement to evade attacks, retaliating with wide-arcing destruction magic to cut down multiple opponents at once.
