Orca Point
Orca Point is a medium-sized city in Oregon located between the shores of the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean.
History
Orca Point was founded in the 1840s after large settlements of pioneers gathered there via the Oregon Trail. The area was originally referred to as “Whale-town” due to the amount of whales that passed by in the channels just off shore and washed up on the beach, providing the community with plenty of food and blubber for fires and lamps which allowed for a population boom in the area.
