The Otus star system (RS 1157-1-6-224587-316) is a star system in the DDO 44 galaxy. It was first explored in the year 98,530 by the Yanrin Colonization Company, and it currently has a population in excess of 200 million humans. As of 200,000, Otus is the most populated human system of DDO 44 without an E-Class or terraformed planet.
Star
The centre star (also named Otus) is a K2.6V orange dwarf star with a diameter of 0.895 solar diameters, a mass of 0.7745 solar masses, and an absolute magnitude of 6.17. The system is approximated to be 5.725 billion years old. It is a slight BY Draconis variable, releasing periodic small flares.
Otus is located approximately 51.2 light-years away from the DDO 44-Large Magellanic Cloud wormhole. It possesses two asteroid belts and a cometary cloud.
Bodies
The Otus system comprises of one gas giant, one ice giant, three terrestrial planets, and three dwarf planets, in addition to the aforementioned asteroid belts and the cometary cloud. There are, as of 200,000, five major bodies with permanent civilian settlements, excluding any asteroid mining outposts.
