Overview

Pelaxis, later self-titled as the Bastard of Ambrosia / Nox-Eternica, was formerly a member of the Inomeni race; the Noctis-Umbra. He was once its leading military commander during the ancient Etymology Era. Born in 64,000 TI (Time Immemorial) within the Thavmatic Realm of Umbrinox, he was one of the faithful four of his kind who would rise up in rebellion against Gellel; the Typhonian creator of all Noctis-Umbra. Although immensely powerful himself, his efforts in this endeavor were more to provide token assistance from the true leader of this great revolt; Mystara.

Regardless; after the destruction of Gellel at the hands of Mystara, the Noctis-Umbra were now allowed to leave both the Shadowed-Lands of Umbrinox and the Void of Thavma to enter the fabled Amaranth Realm of Ambrosia. Within Ambrosia; Pelaxis would become one of the foremost commanders of the Noctis-Umbra's interstellar armada, a position he would hold until the faithful destruction of their species at the hands of their very ruler: Mystara.

In 39,000 TI, following Mystara’s creation of the Oblivione — a cybernetic harnessing of the forces of Undeath — Pelaxis rebelled against Mystara. an effort joined alongside that of her very husband, Shedrevin, who had grown disgusted with her following her act. Their insurrection ultimately failed, however, and as punishment, Mystara merged Pelaxis, alongside the whole of the Noctis-Umbra species into a single tortured mass known as the Noctillius; a finite and corrupted imitation of the Thavmaphage / Void of Antaroth of her own design on the small planet of Rekeist.

Pelaxis’ mind would endure within the Noctillius for tens of thousands of years thereafter, trapped in a state of semi-existence between that of extantcy and total non-permeance. In 110 EE (Ends Emergence), from within this tortured prison, he whispered the Line to the End; a harrowing truth of the true nature of Creation, using it to shattered the sanity of those who trespassed upon his domain. Among his victims was the young male Jatrius, Emile Fair-Heart; better known as "Knight," whose mind fractured under the weight of the revelation. Yet it was through these same whispers that Syx Corsage awakened to her true nature, realizing herself as Imagindarium's very own Penumbral Cause of Creation's Ultimate End.

Syx’s internal struggle against her true nature gave rise to Paranoia; a psychological manifestation shaped by the lingering influence of Pelaxis’ Remnant whispering in her mind. Through this manifestation, Syx was confronted with the revelation of her ultimate power; the ability to rewrite all of reality itself. Driven by Paranoia’s insidious guidance, she unleashed a scaled-down version of a Finality weapon to erase Rekeist, an act that tore through causality and resulted in the creation of an Amaranth Contravene which would rend it completely from Creation's Totality; ultimately freeing the Noctillius / Pelaxis from his eternal prison.

Upon the Paranoia infected Syx’s defeat at the hands of Seven Novum, Paranoia was forcibly exorcised and transformed into a fully independent entity known as the Bastard of Ambrosia. This new being carried within it the defiant hatred of Pelaxis and the stolen power of Syx, merging vengeance and the infinite wealth of strength contained within Syx into one destructive will. Consumed by its conviction, the Bastard sought to unmake all of Creation itself, believing that only through total annihilation could Light at last finally triumph over the eternal shadow of Darkness.
