Penny Umbra is a Troodon Mutant and the younger sister of Antonio Umbra. She works under her brother at his company Venator Cybernetics.
History
Penny and her brother Antonio, were born in the Cretaceous-era. She wasn’t as clever as her brother, but he often took her with him while he worked at the Laramidian Science Institute, where she served as Antonio’s lab assistant.
One day, when Antonio and the rest of his team were testing Stasis beds to be used in space travel the Chixulub Meteorite struck Earth, sparking the K-Pg Mass Extinction Event. In the minutes the team was given to live before the shockwave would reach them and in an act of rushed desperation, they took cover in the pods, hoping the thick, space proof shells of the devices would shield them. In her rush to enter the pods she was exposed to Primordial Ooze, released from it's resting place within the Earth by the meteorite.
Sealing herself in the pod, she rested in dormancy for 66 million years, until her pod was unearthed by an amateur paleontologist on the outskirts of Orca Point, Oregon, in the 1980s.

Personality
Penny is not as evil as her brother mostly sticking with him out of an emotional need to be with her family rather than any malice. She does not speak much and prefers to leave her brother with most of the action, standing at his side. She is by no means innocent however, as Penny is entirely complicit with Antonio’s plans and is more than willing to get her talons dirty if need be.

Trivia
- Penny’s name is derived from the word ‘Penumbra’, the region of a shadow in which only a portion of the light source is obscured by the occluding body
