Overview
Personificational Beings-or alternatively called "Spirits" or "P.Bs"- are incorporeal, "thaumasomatic" entities inherently tied to a physical thing or abstract concept, refered to from now on as a "subject". Evidence of extistance of these entities is proven to be as least as old as the beginning of the universe itself.
Spirits reside in-between the physical realm and a miniture Alternate Plane, meaning that typically they are beneath detection of the average being, although those trained in magic can sense and interact with them. Interaction with P.Bs can be difficult and dangerous, as anything taken as a negative viewpoint of their subject can result in hostility. The sheer amount of stimuli from the P.B's Alternate Planes can be disorienting and hard to comprehend.
Examples of P.B subspecies include:
- Aboreal (Trees)
- Petrial (Stones and Mountains)
- Aquatic (Water)
- Nebular (Nebulae)
- Tutelary (Specific Places)
- Doloral (Tragic Events)
- Deities (A special type of P.E who has a very broad subject, granting vast power. they are not easily swayed into mortal bidding.)
Physical
Typically, when detected, P.Bs appear as vauge, blurry, humanoid figures. When looked at closely, features thematic to their subject can be found, such as Aboreal P.Bs having a tree-bark like texture. In addition, magic users more experiencened in the field of interacting with P.Bs can see them more clearly.
As immaterial, thaumasomatic beings, they cannot be touched, and experiments show their incorporeal bodies are made up of magical power and a unique, light-like form of energy.
Behaviour
Typically, P.Bs have no incentive to interact with non-P.B beings, seemingly content with interacting with other P.Bs in a network of Alternate Planes but as mentioned, they can be contacted by material beings at their own peril for favours. It isn't unheard of for P.Bs to grant these request in exchange for tending too or perpetuating their subject.
Their likes and dislikes seem to be thematic with their sunject, for example, aquatic P.Es seem universially fond of fish, whilst scorning pollution of their lake, river or sea.
