Overview
Phoant is a warm super-Jupiter and the third planet orbiting Sten, in the Sten system, located
773.56ly from the Earth. It is the second most massive planet in the system, after Nidran. It also hosts quite a lot of moons, including Holymus, the homeworld of the Mirans.
Characteristics
Phoant has a lot of water molecules and methane in its atmosphere, giving its blue tint. Several habs also float in the atmosphere of Phoant, to study the environments of gas giant atmospheres.
History
Phoant is the oldest planet currently in orbit of Sten, and formed the first, kicking Nidran and Pheem out onto long orbits. Once it cleared a gap in the protoplanetary disk, it likely accreted most of the still-surrounding disk, giving it no inner major moons. Its only major moon Holymus, was probably a captured mars-sized planetesimal.
