Political Core

The Political Core is a region of the Voidsea, which is located in the Pactspace, as part of the Akka-Akko Sphere. It is composed of seven Void Archipeligos, located within the Farsight Shoal. It is home to the Tuono Lai Node, located on the Void Island of Nemonumerra.

Of these seven Archipelagos, the system which is usually thought about is the Voidheart's Convergence - The system which is dedicated explicitly to the political and diplomatic matters of the Eternal War of Ideology. However, a mistake many make is that the other six systems do not play a major role within the Core. Though they are dedicated primarily to the habitation of various Kinde which exist within the Core, there is plenty of diplomatic negotiations, and espionage within.

The region serves as a territory where all the Spheres are welcome to engage in diplomatic exchanges, negotiations, and other such political endeavours. Spheres of any size, influence, or power are welcomed, and guaranteed protection by the Akka-Akko, whom act as neutral arbiters - Though not as judges, nor enforcers of any agreements made between the Spheres. They only enforce the peace, preventing all-out war from breaking out in their territory.

Indeed, despite the ambitions of the Akka-Akko, the Political Core is not exactly a forefront of peaceful diplomacy. However, it is not an open warzone either. Each Sphere that is present is there because being there is of immense benefit to them in some way or another, and the Akka-Akko's prerequisites for being within the Core is that those there are peaceful. And furthermore, the Akka-Akko's highly advanced technology means that they are capable of enforcing such a dictate - Or at the very least, ensuring that the loses any Sphere that breaks the truce here would lose far more than it would gain.

Instead, there is a web of political intrigue, as various Sphere's and factions navigate the political scene. Espionage, sabotage, assassination, negotiations, alliances, and betrayals are all commonplace, and over the years, have come to be expected in such a place. To an extent, the Akka-Akko are aware of this, and allow it to happen, as it allows them to maintain soft power, and exert influence on various Spheres as needed.

To live in the Political Core is to live alongside ones enemies, and find ways to outmanoeuvre them, understanding that they are trying to outmanoeuvre you, and you both know it, but must hide it with a smile. Make no mistake - This place is still part of the war. It has merely manifested in a different form.
