Overlapping Reality
Various
The Realmlands is one of the two overlapping realities that exist within the Valhallan Age, though all available evidence suggests it is far older than any existing, or previously existing civilizations found throughout the Voidsea. It is a reality to which there are hundreds of questions with only a few scant answers found within the ruins and records of Kinde and empires long gone.
In practice, the Realmlands operates as a sort of physical overlap to that of it's counterpart, the Voidsea, and a connective hub between every Realm within it. A soul cannot walk from Xeo-Quartz to Iroshara within the Voidsea - But such a feat is entirely doable within the Realmlands - Provided one can survive the savage monsters that congregate from every world in the galaxy and beyond, the haphazard, brutal, and alien environments, and of course, the many factions that war within.
Differences between the Realmlands and the Voidsea are aplenty, and some appear to be rather inconsistent. One of the most notable differences is in how technology operates within the Realmlands - Put simply, it doesn't. Machinery that would work without flaw in the Voidsea simply does not work in the Realmlands, and technology brought into the Voidsea from the many ancient ruins does not function as it did in the Realmlands - If it can be made to function in the Realmlands in the first place. This difference has impacted the ways of travel and war within the Realmlands - Gone are the laser rifles, starships and robotics of the Voidsea. Instead, swords, shields, Taekni and Traits are the tools of combat.
Description
The Realmlands manifest themselves as an immense landscape, containing every type of biome, environment, and weather pattern known to exist across the galaxy - Fungi-forests turn to lush grasslands, surrounded by mountain ranges and volcanic island chains, amongst a sea of water, both fresh and salt. Crystalline hills which see snowfall every week overlook vast, humid deserts. If an environment can be found within the Voidsea, it likely exists somewhere within the Realmlands.
Relation to the Voidsea
The Realmlands overlaps the Voidsea, and the Voidsea overlaps the Realmlands - Physical locations in the Realmlands and the Voidsea correspond to locations in the other.
They are connected via Hnodes - Spots between the two which can be utilized via Taekni. Opening up a Hnode literally tears open both realities in order to create a portal, through which one can walk to enter the other reality, where the corresponding Hnode is located.
History
Evidence of inhabitation of the Realmlands is expansive - Technology, ruins, archaeological sites, and relics of eras long since past are abundant, and found with alarming regularity. Kinde that have no records anywhere else in the Voidsea, both extant and extinct, are abundant. The remains of ancient buildings, once as tall as mountains now sit decapitated, repurposed for the newer Kinde, or are preserved, as best they can be.
Distance and Scale
A confusing concept one must understand when discussing the relationship between the Realmlands and the Voidsea is the matter of distance, and of scale.
Though the Realmlands is immense and huge, it is smaller than the Voidsea by several orders of magnitude - Were it that the Realmlands matched the Voidsea's size, it is unlikely the factions would ever come into contact with one another, save for the occasional, accidental meeting. Still, care should be taken to not underestimate just how vast the Realmlands are
Though the two are connected, distance is a more abstract concept when in relation to In comparison to the Realmlands, the Voidsea is immense. However, this does not necessarily reflect distances between locations in the Realmlands. For example, the worlds Earth and Mars are, on a cosmic scale, incredibly close to one another. In the Realmlands however, their nodes are a distance apart, requiring travel time between them.
Hnodes
Hnodes come in two variations - Constructed Hnodes, and Organic Hnodes.
Constructed Hnodes can theoretically be constructed anywhere, including on a space station in the Intergalactic Voidsea. They must be constructed via Taekni, and can require maintenance in order to remain active. They can also be destroyed, and rebuilt as, when, and if needed.
Hnodes can theoretically be constructed anywhere, though most Realms only have on, or at most, a handful on their surface, and not every Realm has one. Many Realms, such as Lupinous, have none, while others, such as Saturn, have several.
There can be many reasons for this, from political reasons, operational security, logistics, militaristic, isolationist tendencies,
