The Republic of Drusidia was a sovereign state centered on the city of Enyo, then called the Oktopolis. Founded shortly after the collapse of the Dominion of Astraeus, the republic saw an expeditious rise to the forefront of Eos' cities. The Republic was dissolved in 9749 CE and replaced with Martial Space, though Drusidia's senate survived and became the Greater Martial Consilium of Martial Space. The nation established itself as a major space power and waged several wars to keep the Anemoi Line and other important trade routes open. This paid off with immense power and influence. Drusidia conquered nearly a dozen stars in the Wars of Reunification. At its height, the Republic had the largest economy and territory in Aylathiya.
The Consilio d'Drusidia', the Drusidian Senate, emerged as the cities elected an archon to rule over them. Unlike the other great duchy-cities of Eos at the time, Enyo did not have a duke. In order to maintain peace without threatening the position of the existing dukes, the Dominion of Astraeus approved of this method. Each borough of Enyo had a "prince" who ruled it, and Enyo's history was defined by the constant competition between these princes and the overseeing archon. In 9385 CE, the city of Mag Mell became the first to allow land owners to vote, greatly decreasing the power of its aristocracy.
Following a series of popular revolutions spurred by Mag Mell's landed class, all of Enyo gained species-agnostic suffrage for landowners. This was not a peaceful process, resulting in no less than three civil wars on top of the conflicts brought about by the collapse of the Dominion of Astraeus in 9415 CE. With manufacturing made much more difficult, warfare became much too risky. The same chamber that elected the archon became a permanent body. Over the next century, it would accrete a great deal of power. By appealing to land owners over aristocrats, it earned their support and passed landmark edicts. Its population would balloon to trillions as it gave homesteaders a protected status, even if they were originally from outside of Enyo. Industrialists gained rights as well as they competed for contracts to build rail lines, fusion reactors, spacecraft, or anything else the ambitious central government needed. They cleared out old factories of slums, cleared out wreckage to be harvested, and pushed farmers ever outward from the urban core. Though there was a sharp rise in poverty during this time, there was more than enough jobs in the refurbished ruins of factories, some as old as a millennium.
Universal suffrage, first for non-humans then, at the absurdity of genderless non-humans getting the vote, also for women that year, accompanies further developments. Drusidia had annexed several cities and gained the idea of the "Martial Imperative," the nation sought to reunite the Dominion of Astraeus. With the blessing of the Imperator, the nation had accumulated a great deal of cultural influence as well. The War of the Ancients was a massive interstellar conflict primarily fought between Drusidia, Tianshi, and Sagittarium against the Civese Great Cities and Aurothiya. After years of hardship, the war was won and Drusidia gained a great deal of territory, so much that its dreams of the Martial Imperative were complete. The state renamed itself to Martial Space, meaning the space ruled by Mars and adopted a new constitution called the Edict of Decency.
